I read every thread on Rudolph, I don't remember anyone attaching hero-status on him; many posters were impressed by his elusiveness and less impressive with the fed's investigative skills.

The last I heard, he hadn't yet been tried for a crime prior to becoming a fugitive.

Meanwhile, he should not be tried in the press as Richard Jewell was.

Or that poor OJ fellow.

What I'm disagreeing with is your understanding that she implied that it is a huge issue in the east...

More women die today from complications of abortion than died in the so-called "dark ages."

I was just talking to some family and I'm starting to be of the belief it was probably to pick up some supplies or food that had been set aside for him in the back of the strip mall

How he survived is astounding, but from what I have been reading, seems like he had many townsfolk helping. The last thing I expected to hear when I woke up was he was caught.
I thought like bigfoot, he'd remain a mystery, never to be found. There was so much hypothesis he may even be dead.

Let the media circus begin.

The main reason there will be a media circus is because people want to watch it and are fascinated by it. If you don't believe that, note the length of this thread and its final length.

The media gives people what they know will sell.

Maybe because there are more women?

Well, do they do it for love or support what he did?

And just so it's clear to everyone, I am not attaching hero status to him either. However I about fell out of my chair when the government man at the press conference said they knew how many calories he needed a day. We were always wondering what they were doing up there and now I know. Running calorie counter programs

Do don't think that him finding a food source would be crucial for an investigative lead?

In all honesty I don't know. Personal opinion, I think support of him swelled in the mountains when the national government started sending in the troops. It wasn't so much in support of what he did as it was they didn't cotton to the aspect that the FBI was rooting around in their woods

I think if the FBI hadn't made so big a case out of it and not invaded Western NC as they did, he probably would have been caught a long time before now.

Hey Kevin, "Dark Ages?"

40 MILLION ABORTIONS SINCE 1973

4,000 each day

Although there are no reported statistics on how many illegal abortions took place each year prior to 1973, we do know that from 1950 – 1960, about 250 women died each year from illegal abortions. From 1960-1970, an average of 120 women died from these illegal procedures each year. The number of women dying from abortions declined steadily from 1960 to 1974 and flattened out beyond that point.

If he did the bombing?

Remember this is the same FBI that thought Vicky Weaver should be shot in the head as she held her baby, and her 13 year old son should be shot in the back.

I had no idea who the guy was until I saw a TV picture of him (the one on the right above, the artist's rendering) a few days later. I have somewhat of a photgraphic memory and the photograph of him (on the left above) looked too little like the man I saw to register in my mind. The artist's rendering, however, is very close to what he looked like in that bar.

While the reponses have been interesting (to my query to Physicist), I will tell those interested in 'the rest of the story' that I called the Knowxville FBI office (# 1-865-544-0751) to report my 'possible sighting' and I was never contact 'directly' beyond that call. Mister Rudolph was worth one million dollars at that time, and I have posted before on the web that I would gladly turn him in--with his permission if he contacted me to do so--for the million to use in the pro-life information campaign. I've never been contacted by him, however.

BTW, I don't consider his killing (homicide) of the innocent security guard in B'ham, AL (at a clinic on the street where I'd made physican calls many times during my tenure as a pharmaceutical sales rep in B'ham) to be any different than the serial killers slaughtering innocent unborn children. Both behaviors are wrong ... killing begets more killing; killing innocents is not pro-life.

Calorie needs are realitively easy...

for males, it is 66+(13.7xkg)+ (5xcm)-(6.8xage)
Then factory in extra kcal for activity, injury, infection.

If the man was burnin' 3000kcal per day, that is a lot of food. Where was it coming from?

Where was it coming from?

Well it sure as heck wasn't coming from fruits and berries!! I'd say half and half. Half from hunting, half from town. And I think probably what irritated the FBI is that they knew he was probably being supplied (at least in some part) from town
