Am I the only one who is sick and tired of the wall-to-wall coverage of this case?

I can't say I am sick of it because I haven't really heard that much about it. I watch Fox News mostly and they don't seem to be wall to wall Peterson? Local news is not at all concerned with it either. Must be heavy coverage on the West Coast? Since I am not following it- can anyone tell me if there is any merit to the claim's of the defense? Or is this guy guilty as sin?

Too much media - not enough news...
I'm both sick of the story AND concerned over this trial by media trend.
Not that I think he's actually innocent, but can this guy get an impartial jury ANYWHERE in this country because of this mediagasm?

Could be worse. Donahue could still be on the air, talking about it. Or worse than that. charles grodin could still have his blab show, talking about it.
I, too, am sick of it.

Sorry if I had my a$$ on my shoulders earlier today.
This thread has made me feel better already. :)

I'm in line with you on this one. Short of a CNN interview with a Clinton, nothing these days makes me reach for the remote quicker than the Peterson story.

Hard-core pornography would pull even bigger ratings. Are you suggesting they program hard-core porn in search of more money? Simply because it draws ratings is not a reason to broadcast it. The Laci crowd is mainly women. If you're talking about drawing a male crowd I'm not sure how many would watch it as avidly day after day as this case. And I believe there is a restriction on hard core porn on TV.
As for "is it okay" ... may not. But who decides? Do you want to go out and legislate that no channel can cover this trial? No tabloid can be in business? Next thing you know, you'll decide that people can't some in restaurants.

My therapist says I should cut way back on "news". This wall-to-wall Peterson coverage has me on Comedy Central faster than you can John Stewart.

They've done alright without him....so far. Well, they're 1 - 2 without him, and I attribute the one win a couple nights ago more to the Spurs' incredible (and fairly recent) talent for choking than to the Mavs's sans-Niwitski prowess. If it goes 7, I'd want the big man back in a big way.
Thanks for the link.

I'm not; I haven't declared him guilty like a lot of people on the forum and, I might add, I have been flamed for not thinking him guilty from the gates. So, every time news comes out I like to watch the ebb and flow of the Peterson threads.

Count me in!!!! I keep thinking that by the time it goes to trial, we will have seen interviews of the blades of grass in front of the Peterson Home.

Hey, it takes a real man to admit when he's being a jerk.
However, I want you to know that I am STILL sick of hearing of this case! :)

I always get Scott Petersen and Scott Ritter confused. Maybe we need a thread for Good Scotts.

Apparently I am not alone in my Peterson Fatigue! LOL

He won't be able to get an impartial jury. Most people think he did it anyway. These is going to be like another OJ trial. I see Fox News has chosen theme music for the Scott Peterson case. That is one thing that angers me more than anything! They choose the same music before they start talking about Scott Peterson. They did the same with Chandra Levy!
