The Laci crowd is mainly women. If you're talking about drawing a male crowd I'm not sure how many would watch it as avidly day after day as this case. And I believe there is a restriction on hard core porn on TV.
As for "is it okay" ... may not. But who decides? Do you want to go out and legislate that no channel can cover this trial? No tabloid can be in business? Next thing you know, you'll decide that people can't some in restaurants.
Don't know about other cable or satellite systems, but on DirectTV there isn't. Their pay-per-view adult channels and the Playboy channel all broadcast hardcore porn.
That's the managing editor's job.
Do you want to go out and legislate that no channel can cover this trial?
That's a far stretch. I don't want to legislate anything. We have more than enough laws already. I want the news editors to do their job and cover news, not prurient voyeuristic sleaze.
No tabloid can be in business?
Who said that? Tabloids have traditionally covered sleazy crime stories. What's new is the block 24-hour coverage on multiple "news" channels on television.
Next thing you know, you'll decide that people can't some in restaurants.
Huh? I don't care if "people some in restaurants" (whatever the heck that is). We're talking about television news.
And Broads wonder why they don't get more respect from us men!
