I'm sure it would. But it is not up to the standards of most PGA Tour stops. It is the oldest course on the Tour, and it is not set up well for Tour play today. Which is another reason why none of the top four players in the world are participating this weekend.

So what is really the deal with your hostility on this issue of Sorenstam playing in a little golf tournament? If this attractive heterosexual Swedish woman scores better than some men, what does it mean to you? Why does the course have to be stupid for this to happen? Will you be less of a man if this woman beats the odds and makes the cut from the men's tees? Deep down, what is really troubling you about this? Why does it matter for 1150 posts what occurs in this golf tournament? Why does Rush Limbaugh spend hours on this topic? There is a great basketball game on tonight and not a single thread about that, and here is a very minor PGA tour event and a lot of conservatives, but not me, are obsessed with it and I cannot figure out why.

women playing against Major Leauge Baseball players?, hurling 70 mph fastballs

One of my old friend's daughters was an alternate for the Woman's Olympic Softball team - she pitched underhand at over 90 mph, and at softball distances, that's too fast for this old man to hit (and most college players would ageee).

Obviously, women would have a hard time competeing in MLB, but there's no reason that one in a million might not be able to make the show.

Annika likes having her cake and eating it too.

Actually, anyone can have their cake and eat it too. Only fools think that they can eat their cake and have it too. Please note the difference. Now don't get me started on founder and flounder.

Really? I could have sworn there was only an NBA game on the schedule... where can I see a great basketball game?

"But it is not up to the standards of most PGA Tour stops."

By whose measure?

"It is the oldest course on the Tour.."

Sure about that?

"... and it is not set up well for Tour play today....

Well, it's not a treeless, personality-lacking stadium course, I'll grant you that. Definitely requires more than average abililty to shape your shots, something not all Tour players do well. Most play right-to-left, many left-to-right, few do both well, something that Colonial requires.

"Which is another reason why none of the top four players in the world are participating this weekend."

Got some support for that, perhaps a quote by Woods, Els, Love, or Singh indicating that that's why they're not playing this week? Or are you just making that up? AFAIK only 1 of them made the Nelson last week, and it's a long-ball course.

Got any idea how often the top 4 actually enter the same (non-Major) tournament (or conversely, how often they don't)?

"As an example, there is a kid in Westchester right now who has won the Big East Conference individual championship three years in a row and is VERY well connected. If exemptions were simply given out to accompished players, he would be a shoe-in for one at the Westchester Classic. But he has not been given one, because he is not good enough."

Big East? Not exactly a hotbed of college golf, eh? Has only had an automatic bid to the NCAA's for the last 3 years.....

How's ol' 'xxx' done on the national stage? Kickin' bohunki in the USGA's?

I inserted 'xxx' since the Big East site shows a different Individual Champion for each of the last 10 or so years. Or are you speaking of Pat Fogarty from ~20 years ago?

Heheheh, presidio, whoever said 'you just can't make this stuff up!" never met you, did they? :>)

She is definitely not cute.

She definitely is cute.

BTW, has anybody even mentioned the ugliest man in professional golf, the chauvinist Veejay Singh?

Crybabies like you ought to act a bit humble right now; instead you snipe like a junior high schooler.

You really do look silly.

Tiger Woods, in his only trip to Colonial, finished four over par. Colonial ate his lunch.

The four top players (like the UGLY Veejay Singh) are cowards. They can't risk being shown up.

You said more than you realize, Freddy.

If you check out these two threads, you'll see why presidio is especially adept at "making things up".

Sörenstam says she can win (presidio get nabbed)

Presidio9 gets b*tchslapped for posting under two names

In other words, you cannot trust a thing he says.

Marvin, you're the guy I've been looking for! I can keep up with the young guys from tee to green, but once I'm on the green, I suck. :-}

Cost me money every weekend. Three putt Johnny.LOL

Yea, well if I were you, I'd go AWOL. Once presidio finds out I spilled the beans, he's going to have a hissy-fit.

It should be enjoyable. ;-)

"56, a much worse number to hit to. She has to be even tomorrow to make the cut then in my opinion."

Colonial cut is low 70 plus ties. Cut would be even par if done today, leaving 72 players on the course.

I hit a ton of fairways, and make a lot of putts. Drive the ball about 300 yards when I catch it right, usually in the fairway.

Actually I was asking if that was the only thing that impressed you about Annika's game ... not what impresses you about your game.
