We've got to nationalize this issue and slam the Democrats! This is gold! They couldn't have given us a better issue.
Adjectives: weak, cowardly, irresponsible
Images:
*crybaby ("if i don't get my way, i'm taking my toys and leaving!")
*children (immature)
*wanted poster (criminals avoiding work of the people)
Other points to emphasize:
*Fleeing from their jobs.
-Wouldn't it be nice if the hard-working American laborer could have this luxury to go on the lam....and still get paid!
-Gang of crybabies: round 'em up and have them explain to their bossess, the people, why they didn't show up for work. (Message to the voter: What would happen to you if you didn't show up for work? You'd be fired. Do the same thing to the cowardly Democrats who ran from their jobs and their responsibilities)
-"John Doe, Democrat, rather than working, fled to New Mexico to do his job. Does that sound responsible to you?"
-Dems running away from their responsibility to the people: legislature trying to fix the budget, improve education from the people, and Dems flee the scene.
-----
The best tone would be mocking, not angry. We should flat-out humilliate them for running away from their job, and leaving the people's work unattended. "Who's going to improve our education system, who's going to improve the roads, etc. Not the Democrats. On May 12 (?), Democrats in the Texas legislature left their jobs, refusing to work, and skipped town. The police had to travel across state lines to bring them back to the capital. As their employer, does this sound responsible to you?"

I've been working on a brief GOP zinger:
"Lazy Democrats get paycheck for hiding"
What role models! Cowardice and irresponsibility wrapped up into one attractive example that we all can follow. Refusing to do the job that people hired them to do? I wonder what would happen to the American worker if he refused to show up for work? (because it's so unfair, darnit! :) He'd get fired. And so should these lazy Democrats.
To: jagrmeister
Another tack is to come out with a list of rules for children. Here's a friendly message from the GOP to America's children:
1. Don't run away from your problems.
2. Sometimes you don't get your way. Don't pick up your toys and go home.
3. When you promise to do a job, do it. Don't weasel out of it.
4. Be conscientious. Don't shirk your responsibilities.
*You don't even need to mention the Texas Democrats in this list. Just preface this list with the TexDem story. People will know what you're talking about.

Time to call your local tax assessors office and tell them to credit your property taxes for the time these Libs are out.
If they cant show up for their duty, we cant pay our taxes.
