I'd like to know if this guy ever served in the military or National Guard.

Dubya conveniently sat out the Vietnam War, not as a protester or Rhodes Scholar, but with a rich boy’s “in” to the National Guard? And he couldn’t even hack that for the length of his sign-up, so he went AWOL his last year to run a Republican campaign in Alabama. He was never punished, as a regular soldier would have been, and even got an “honorable” discharge.

What is the story on this? Does anybody know the facts?

a Rhodes Scholar (a true intellectual achievement) from Arkansas.

Well, this is all we need to know that the writer is a complete and utter moron. With respect to the Rhodes Scholarship, Slick Willie stands to "true intellectual achievement" as Chelsea does to virtually everyone else who has been hired by that firm that recently took her on. Each position was a measure, not of intellectual stature, but of political connections.

I don't hear the Rats complaining about Kennedy and Mayor Daly stealing the 1960 Presidential election. They never deny that they did. They think it's OK, because like their hard-core Marxist brethren they follow the idea that the end justifies the means. "By any means necessary!" is the Marxist slogan that they live by.

Beware being a smart boy from Tennessee who went to Vietnam or a Rhodes Scholar (a true intellectual achievement) from Arkansas. Oh, and also a Democrat.

Smart by whose reckoning? He went to Vietnam as a JOURNALIST! A Rhodes Scholarship may be a true intellectual achievement if you're a leftist; I'm not sure that it's one in general. And as far as Democrat goes, that's usually enough reason right there for me not to vote for him!

Hmmmm another interesting thing - the home page at Berman Simmons lists him as "Paul A. Macri", but his New Profile Page lists him as "Paul F. Macri". That's a little strange...

The AWOL conspiracy theory that fringe leftists advance makes me laugh. It's more ridiculous and baseless than any off the bizarre stories I heard the Right say about Clinton. Bush was a fighter pilot; in contrast, the closest these leftist fruitcakes ever got to that is when they fly passenger and shriek whenever there's mild turbulence.

Whine is right. What's really amazing is people ignore the fact that many air guard units were called up during the Vietnam "war," and Bush could have been in one of those units but happened to not be, which is hardly draft-dodging. The navy reserve units that I worked with acquited themselves well in Vietnam, as did, I'm sure, the air guard. Whine!

I have read editorials that are more critical of the president than that. Democrat's underground website makes that look like a compliment.

Bush was “unelected” in 2000. Shame on him.

------------------

I dislike the Bushs. However, according to the United States Constitution Bush was elected in 2000.

Oh, you mean Gore who did go to Viet Nam, with a bodyguard provided thanks to his senator dad, and who never went anywhere near the action. Furthermore, he flunked out of law scool and even divinity school. And the Felon who did not complete his Rhodes Scholarship and went off to visit Soviet Russia instead? Oh, you mean those idiots! Who knew?
