Bagdad Bob - There are NO tornados in Oklahoma. These radar images are Hollywood creation. The weather in Oklahoma is wonderful.
All jokes aside, you are all in my prayers. May the Almighty Creator protect you.

This thing is HUGE. The largest I've ever seen.

This is a very bad storm -- it was really humid here in this area today which is unusual!

Is the area around I-44 where the tornado is now very highly populated or is it open area near an interstate?

I would love to be a storm chaser, but when you are faced with a large tornado comeing at you and you can see it coming at you,
Storm chasers generally chase from off the the side. For one thing, you can't see it as well from ahead of it, besides safety considerations.

It looks to have cleared the real populated area of OKC and is now more in the open along I-44 heading toward Stroud. BTW, one of my son's fraternity brothers is a stormchaser.

KOCO/CNN: Storm is SW of Luther moving NE on Turner Turnpike at 30.
I was at CNN monitoring the OKC stations when the storms hit in '99; this looks even bigger than that....

yes...I have never seen that...Major hook. Injuries are now being reported. Major damage all over the NW part of OKC stretching to the NE and out of town. May be worse than last night.

The one in 1999 that hit Moore, went 87 miles on the ground!

I have blankets and shoes in the hallway...and the kid's bicycle helmets.
Stay vigilant...in OK, you never know when one of those big tornadoes can
steam over the horizon or just drop down.

Yes, a subject of some debate today on weather enthusiast BBs, but the BIG outbreak is actually forecast for tomorrow...Illinois/Eastern Missouri. Could be the biggest of the week. A chance that debris from the storms today could limit heating there and thus limit the tornadoes tomorrow, however.

23,000 in OKC area now without electrical power (per Tulsa TV 8).
Hook hugging I-44 moving toward Chandler and Stroud in Lincoln County area.
If this holds together, Tulsa area could be hit in about 2 hours.
Good News for some: Storms in northern Oklahoma (Pawhuska/Bartlesville area) are beginning to break up.

They said it is in Jones right now doing damage. They are closing down I-35 northbound! Long track supercell with lots of damage from Canadian County all the way across Oklahoma County.

KWTV.com (Ch. 9) is offline. I still can't get ahold of a feed. CNN is simulcasting KOCO (Ch. 5), and jumping in every so often...
