Tonight, Bill has continued his jihad against Georgia Republican Governor Sonny Perdue. O'Reilly, who recently made what many considered an anti-black remark, has launched a full frontal assault on Perdue.
Inexplicably, Bill O blames the GOP Gov for an all-white private prom that recently occured in Baldwin County Georgia. Of course, if the Governor could prevent the white kids from having a private prom, we would be living in a totalitarian state.
Bill is clearly seeking to destroy Perdue to deflect from his racially insensitive faux pas.
Perdue's Black Female Press Secretary was on The Factor tonight and Bill was rude and hostile to her, it kinda made you think that if Bill were throwing a private party at his big Long Island digs (why doesn't he live closer to work in a more diverse area?) he wouldn't invite her unless she agreed to hold a serving tray all night.
Georgia is all ready in a state of racial tension, due to the flag issue, Bill's attempt to destroy Georgia's first Republican Governor since Reconstruction is, without a doubt, an assault on the GOP.
We should all let O'Reilly know how we feel about this. Also, when O'Reilly's young daughter becomes school age, we must demand that he sends her to a school in Harlem. The white kids who went to that prom attend a 55% African American majority high school and live more racially integrated lives than O'Reilly and his wealthy Long Island elitists ever have.
Were the kids morally wrong to exclude their balck peers from their private prom? Yes. Were they legally wrong? No. Does Sonny Perdue bear any culpability in the matter? Absolutely Not!
O'Reilly is now demanding that Perdue hold a press conference, go on The Factor, and/or go to this week's integrated prom.
I find O'Reilly's stance on this untenable and grotesque. Hobbling a Republican Governor (unfairly) driving up anti-Republican sentiment in the South (a region integral to Dubya's re-election) and galvanizing Southern Democrats is a clear sign that Bill is not on our team.
Maybe he's not on the D team either, perhaps, he is on his own team-- in a very Clintonian way. His jihad against Georgia's Governor is to appease the NYC, DC chattering class who think he is a racist and suspect his Jesse Jackson fixation is rooted in racism.
In a suck up to his critics, Bill O has thrown an innocent man to the wolves. This is outrageous!
and persecuting 18 years olds that
No, but if I were black, I would!
I know - and you will notice that O'Really? didn't bother to ask Perdue's spokeswoman her personal opinion of the whole situation.
She caught him several times when she mentioned Perdue had just gotten the story, was on vacation when it surfaced, and had made several attempts to establish dialogue with O'Really's? staff since last Friday.
O'Really is good at what he does best - stir the pot.
Most of his shows I like. Once in awhile he really comes out acting like a genuine ba$tard.
Would you say it was a governors job to speak out against the Klan marching in the streets of Atlanta on Martin Luther King day? The governor is an official elected to represent all the people.
Well of course. My beef with O'Reilly isn't about his grousing about the prom, it's about his 2-day running spin that it's a school event and that somehow the school principal & superintendent as well as the governor of the state are responsible for a private event.....
And even if they are not responsible, they should still gather en masse to pile on & condemn........somebody?........for the benefit of O'Reilly's program and the other PC Police Force members' agendas.
Sheeesh. This is still America where making a fool of yourself is not illegal, criminally or PC'ly, by God.
The "new" state flag passed under Barnes ncluded the Stars-and-bars.
The new "new" state flag propopsed under Perdue does not.
Furthermore, the vast majority of Georgians I've talked to say the flag issue didn't influence their vote at all.
If the news item in post 23 is accurate, this doesn't look like an ordinary private function where these kids are just inviting their particular circle of friends. Rather, it seems the only prerequisite to invitation is to not be black. What is this, 1966? These kids and their parents should be ashamed of themselves.
Surely there's a better issue with which to call out O'Reilly than this one. A whites-only prom surely isn't it.
Not really. It was a public event open to all WHITE student body members. Perhaps if ten or twenty people had gotten together and decided to have a private dance it would be different but to open it up to everyone at the school except blacks goes over the line.
O'Reilly is a pompous jackass (or at least he was tonight), but he can say whatever he wants, even with evident distortions and disregard for inconvenient facts (such as the lack of school sanction of the event).
Why would you have a governor express any view on a private affair that involved free association? There are thousands of exclusive gatherings every day in every state. You may be offended by some. You may (and probably do) attend some. There are all women events; all men events (Augusta most notably); all heterosexual events (especially at devoutly religious events); all [pick your religion] events; all [pick your color] events. I don't want the government or head of state involved in decrying or promoting private, free associations. That is coercive in and of itself. Once on that slippery slope, where does it stop? To suggest or imply that a person who advocates a position that government should not regulate or critique private, free associations does not make that person a racist, sexist, homophobe or [pick your pejorative term]. We may find this conduct unsavory or offensive, but it is a lesser evil than letting the governor or PC crowd dictate or legislate our rights as regards association.
Perdue should not take the bait; he was ill-advised to send his aide to be berated by O'Reilly. He behaved like a frenzied demagogue.
As for the "super coward" remark, sometimes it is more courageous to remain silent when to speak is to dignify or lend credence to a baseless position.
No kids. My next door neighbors are Asian. We have a few black neighbors up the street. Integrated school district. In fact I live in St. Louis County and the City of St. Louis buses kids to my suburban school under a desegregation judgment against the state.
And when the good ole boys elect Democrats (like they have in Georgia up until Perdue) and the private, segregated proms take place, why is there no national media horror? Are you telling me that all the kids and their parents that went to the all-white prom voted Republican? There are lots of Blue Dogs who are not "racially progressive".
What does this have to do with politics. If Perdue had shown just a little guts he wouldnt even be taking any heat for this. Its not a Republican issue. Its not a Democrat issue. I'm sorry that you see everything in Right and Left, rather than right and wrong. I presume O'Reilly is going ballistic against Perdue and not against his predecesser is that he wasnt aware of it in the past.
Do they have the right? Yes. They have the right to be stupid and at that age probably no lasting damage would be done.
Should they? Probably not. You tell a kid not to do something and they will go ahead and do it.
Do you? What did you tell your children?
No but when you open up attendance to anyone at your school who is white, no blacks allowed even as guests, then you are white trash. IMHO.
