O'Reilly Seeks to Destroy Georgia Republican Governor

Posted on 05/06/2003 5:58:32 PM PDT by faithincowboys

Tonight, Bill has continued his jihad against Georgia Republican Governor Sonny Perdue. O'Reilly, who recently made what many considered an anti-black remark, has launched a full frontal assault on Perdue.

Inexplicably, Bill O blames the GOP Gov for an all-white private prom that recently occured in Baldwin County Georgia. Of course, if the Governor could prevent the white kids from having a private prom, we would be living in a totalitarian state.

Bill is clearly seeking to destroy Perdue to deflect from his racially insensitive faux pas.

Perdue's Black Female Press Secretary was on The Factor tonight and Bill was rude and hostile to her, it kinda made you think that if Bill were throwing a private party at his big Long Island digs (why doesn't he live closer to work in a more diverse area?) he wouldn't invite her unless she agreed to hold a serving tray all night.

Georgia is all ready in a state of racial tension, due to the flag issue, Bill's attempt to destroy Georgia's first Republican Governor since Reconstruction is, without a doubt, an assault on the GOP.

We should all let O'Reilly know how we feel about this. Also, when O'Reilly's young daughter becomes school age, we must demand that he sends her to a school in Harlem. The white kids who went to that prom attend a 55% African American majority high school and live more racially integrated lives than O'Reilly and his wealthy Long Island elitists ever have.

Were the kids morally wrong to exclude their balck peers from their private prom? Yes. Were they legally wrong? No. Does Sonny Perdue bear any culpability in the matter? Absolutely Not!

O'Reilly is now demanding that Perdue hold a press conference, go on The Factor, and/or go to this week's integrated prom.

I find O'Reilly's stance on this untenable and grotesque. Hobbling a Republican Governor (unfairly) driving up anti-Republican sentiment in the South (a region integral to Dubya's re-election) and galvanizing Southern Democrats is a clear sign that Bill is not on our team.

Maybe he's not on the D team either, perhaps, he is on his own team-- in a very Clintonian way. His jihad against Georgia's Governor is to appease the NYC, DC chattering class who think he is a racist and suspect his Jesse Jackson fixation is rooted in racism.

In a suck up to his critics, Bill O has thrown an innocent man to the wolves. This is outrageous!

and persecuting 18 years olds that

O'Reilly called Perdue out. Perdue could have ignored him. Instead he sends this galactically stupid black woman (why a black woman?) who was shredded by O'Reilly.

Sink, sometimes you have a rapier wit. LOL.

I used to work for an engineering firm in the midwest. All of the black employees belonged to a "club" where ONLY the blacks met for lunch once a month. No whites were allowed. Many of the white employees, myself included, resented the fact that we would have been fired if we had openly had a "club" that forbid blacks. Sounds like a double standard to me.

You will win some and we lose some with O'Reilly. He's not a Republican.

You people must have me confused with someone interested in discussing your remarks. WRONG! If you have no problem with "whites only" prom parties that is something you will have to discuss with your Maker when the time comes. Cya

"No matter the issue, O'Reilly tends to take on an attitude that he is saving the world, at times."

I wanted to add my 2 cents worth, but you said it all.

Today's media - including O'Reilly - watched too many adventures of Superman.

They have confused the job of the reporter, with that of "savior of the world".

The media now seeks to first, make the news, THEN report it.

The party in Ga. was a private party. enuff sedd.

Yo Sinkspur, I get the impression you think this was a racist school-sponsored event funded by tax payers. It was not.

Remember, last year, this same school sponsored an integrated prom. -- FYI, this school is sponsoring an intergrating prom this year, too. [Though listening to O'Reilly you'd not know that]

If I'm wrong, link it, but as I see it it's a totally private affair not on school grounds. Misguided I guess [I haven't interviewed anyone there] but still private and America still represents all points of views, last I heard. Even the one's you or I don't agree with.

How does America look from your seat, Herr Sinkspur?

[I expect you to kick back but, hey, you deserve that IMHO for taking such an anti-American viewpoint]

O'reilly really looked bad today. He went over the top in giving the Governor's representative a tongue lashing for coming on his show instead of the Governor.

There is a lesson that I learned the hard way: I used to worry about what people thought of me, about being accepted by certain people, etc. But, there comes a time in a person's life when he, hopefully, realizes that there are certain people who will dislike other people for extremely petty reasons. I'm of the opinion that, if I offer my friendship to someone and my hand is slapped away, it is that person's loss. No matter of shaming, vocalizing my "feelings," etc. is going to change the fact that the person does not like me. That's just life. Most likely, the majority of those kids will not see each other again, after graduation, until the high school reunion. If they want to have a party by themselves and invite whoever they want, that is their business. If whoever wants to have their own party and not invite those kids from the first party, let the kids from the first party miss out.

O'Reilly just made a Baldwin County issue

Um, it's Taylor County. I work in Baldwin County, and that took me by surprise! ;-)

I see you chose not to answer the question that I asked you
which makes you just an irrelevant hit-and-run poster.
Whassa matta?
Ya Chicken?
The question still stands when and if you have the guts to answer it.
"Do you have the right to invite whomever you please
to your own private party at your own house?"
Yes or no?
(The clock is still ticking, and you are looking bad.)

Yes, there is definitely a double-standard.

All-black? Ok.
All-white? Not ok.

Huh?

I think integration is wonderful and separate is unequal in public accomodations, but I think prohibiting groups of racially similar or ideologically alike persons from participating in exlusive, private events (even ones that insult others) is un-American.

No. I knew it wasn't school sponsored, nor taxpayer funded.

America still represents all points of views,

You're right. Some rednecks can hold an all-white prom, and O'Reilly and I can criticize them for it.

Used to be we would never miss him. However, of late he has become obnoxious and when he gets "tough" and "demands" this or that he loses credibility. Who is he to DEMAND? He's gone over the line so many times now...he's not worth watching or getting upset about. I hadn't watched him much lately but after these last couple nights... I won't watch him at all.

He's not a logical conservative. He's first a ratings hound, I never fully realized that until tonight.
