"Al Qaeda was created and became empowered by the U.S. presence in Saudi Arabia following the first Gulf War,"Al Qaeda became empowered by the sick religion of Islam, and its teaching that killing and murdering infidels (especially civilians) is the highest form of spiritual advancement.

Dear Tim Robbins;
You are a complete moron. Please shut your mouth before you bring more shame on the human race. You and your wife are socialist America haters who would probably be more comfortable in France or Canada anyway. Oh yes, could you take Alec with you too? PS Don't get too offended by my signature gif, okay? Weenie.

Robbins is cryin'. Typical lib boo-hooing and denial that they also have responsibilities associated with their freedom of speech.

I am among the 93 percent who thinks that the war has gone well. I'm amazed at what our military is able to do. But that does not mean that I think the war should have happened. That's probably what Robbins meant by "bitterly divided". And what would have been your alternative to war with Iraq????

Where is a director when you need one to tell this guy "quiet on the set!". He seems determined to completely alienate himself from the public who pays to watch his movie. Or should I say used to watch his movies.

The more he talks the more people will come to see exactly what the Hollyweird crowd is made of. I agree. Let him self-destruct. More and more people are catching on to what the hollywierd people stand for.

Robbins views the US as a rogue state. I don't know what has changed, though.

I just heard clips from this guy's talk yesterday, and I realized who his voice reminds me of. He talks like Frank Sinatra.
To: Bluntpoint
Robbins is deep into the idea of a kind of government that would respect ony one point of view, and conservatives with means can be disenfranchised and reeducated.

I am among the 93 percent who thinks that the war has gone well. I'm amazed at what our military is able to do. But that does not mean that I think the war should have happened. That's probably what Robbins meant by "bitterly divided". No, I think you've missed the point. Robbins is not talking about other peoples' opinions - he is saying "The country doesn't agree with me!" Robbins is himself bitter, so therefore his bitterness means there is a "bitter divide".
Finally, from the (brief) tone of your post, I surmise that you are willing to debate the merits of the war - to argue point-counterpoint about whether it should have happened or not. Robbins and his ilk aren't that sophistocated. They cannot allow any worldview but their own, and when theirs is challenged it means that they government is responsible!
Don't transfer any sensible tendencies from yourself to Robbins. He is an actor trying very hard to act like he knows what he's talking about - and failing miserably.

Too funny..... ""A unified American public has grown bitterly divided,"
What he means is: People are not paying any attention to anything me or my friends say, this is terrible.

SECAUCUS, N.J. - December 17, 2002 - Following are excerpts from last nights appearance by Susan Sarandon and Tim Robbins on Donahue. A full transcript is available at www.tv.msnbc.com. Donahue airs weeknights, 8:00-9:00 p.m. on MSNBC, Americas NewsChannel.
TIM ROBBINS, ACTOR/DIRECTOR: Gee, blind support for leaders isn`t the domain of a democracy. It`s more the domain of a communist dictatorship. The great thing about America is we can ask questions, and the leaders work for us. We elect them. They work for us. And so they`re responsible to us. We`re not responsible to them. So to oppose a war is a difficult thing. It takes a lot of courage in this environment. It`s certainly not being said in the media. I don`t find it...
PHIL DONAHUE, HOST, DONAHUE: You think it`s a kind of a go-along, rah-rah media, do you?
ROBBINS: Well, I think we once had a media that was a watchdog that would look after the government, the series of checks and balances. And unfortunately, I`m afraid we have a lap dog now. We have a flack publicist for what the government wants.

Maybe Robbins would be happier if someone from the White House got him a fruit basket."Oh Mr. President, make me squat on fruit."

Celebrity punditry has taken on a circus atmosphere, as our beloved entertainers have found a whole new way to clown their way to our mass amusement. I say, keep it coming! Every day, new proof of your fatuousness, your irrelevancy. Just by speaking, you make our side more serious and significant...
I love that speech impediment you've acquired, Timmy. Adds just the right touch to your performance...but you might get in trouble for making fun of a disability.

Hey Robbin, your right to complain has NOT been taken away, witness that you are in fact complaining! Not only that, you're on TV complaining! Not only that, but no one has thrown you in prison, no one has chopped off any of your body parts or pulled out your tongue. You call the president Hitler and claim free speach protection, when You are criticised, all of a sudden it's not free speach any more. You're a traitor and a loser.
