Good Morning.

This is the Daily Thread of Operation Iraqi Freedom - Situation Room - LIVE THREAD.

Chirac, his spokeswoman said, told Bush he is pleased Saddam Hussein's government has crumbled in Iraq and glad the war has been short, noting that he is willing to be "pragmatic" about arrangements for postwar reconstruction. In Brussels, France also dropped its longstanding resistance to the NATO alliance formally taking over the international security force in Afghanistan, an agreement that French and U.S. officials said will be announced today.

This is practically a spectator sport for me. Robbins looked like a four-year old who had had his favorite toy taken away from him. Literally like he was about to cry. It was pathetic. It was glorious. ;-)

This is going to be the ongoing garbage we get as the U.S. continues to fight the war on terror.

Obviously, the short term memory of the idiots of the world (France, Germany, Russia, the Left in America) forget Bush's speech on 9/14/01.

"If you harbor terrorists, you are terrorists"!

Just like the crap I'm reading in the press and hearing on radio. Now that the major fighting is over, every single encounter with thugs in Iraq will be painted as a failure.

Just heard the Marines got into a small fight and "killed 10 civilians". Those are civilians. Those are thugs that took off their uniforms and are hiding in the cities to still attack selectively.

If they are Iraqis between 18-35 and look well fed and have weapons, they are soldiers and RG that ran and are hiding and fighting in small groups at check points and security areas. Or they are foreigner terrorist who deserve to die. Sure beats them trying to be a suicide bomber in our cities.

The rhetoric heats up! It amazes me how every world leader has to step in with their usual comments to cover their butts. It's all so much crap.

I do like the Bush remark about telling them to take stock of the war in Iraq....that was good.

We need to do what is best for us, including, if need be, taking out the regime in Syria.

Of course I'm not just discovering this! But to tell the truth, I don't mind them getting turned on by the attention I give them.

I just like to see how much they'd smile when that attention became a baseball bat to their head. Ain't like they wouldn't do the same if they could.

Great, isn't it! What is really funny is that they keep digging the hole deeper. They actually have no large audience but think they do....in regards to anti war sentiment. They will never get it. We may have to haul him away, kicking and screaming!

Agreed. Thank God their egos are so big they can't STOP from spewing this stuff...and they're finally feeling the heat from it. Oh, things are DEFINITELY getting better...

RE: Destroying the Dems -- Remember how Morris said the first casualty of this war would be liberal credibility? Looks like he may have been somewhat on target.

I'm also struck with the similarity of reaction between the Arab street...and Hollywood. Both have had their core beliefs shaken. These people REALLY believed that the war was going to drag on, that all sorts of horrible things would happen -- some of them even wanted those things to happen, simply to discredit Bush. Now they're running scared.

At the same time, let's not forget how high Bush I was riding after the Gulf War only to get ousted because of the "economy, stupid" (grr, I hate that phrase). Let's not let these guys get a chance to regroup. Keep the pressure on. Heh, I find it fitting that I watch Tim Robbins in movies for amusement. He is the American public's *toy*. We made him; we can unmake him, and he knows it. He exists simply to satisfy our desire for entertainment.

You are right, the left over here wanted Bush and the Republicans to lose period. They don't give a rats ass about much else. Power is their thing....whatever means it takes to get it and keep it is ok. That is why they keep asking Rummy the same dumb questions everyday at the briefings. They already know the answer, they want Rummy to legitimize their points....thus possibly winning the war of words. I would have them submit their questions in advance and answer a couple that were actually revelant.

The sharp propaganda contrast of Baghdad Bob and the Arab world let people see into the major media outlets here, imo.

Apparently, many Iraqis have gone on to France and God only knows where....out of Damascus. Can't believe we didn't see this coming.

I wouldn't be so sure we DIDN'T see it coming. Like arresting the drug dealer on the street, the distributor, or the cartel. Let some of these snakes escape, and track them back to their mother's lair. Then we get everyone who was complicit.

I think this is all part of the brilliant "Plan." I think this "news pause" is being orchestrated by CentCom. How else could there be such a complete news blackout from the embeds for the last two days? There is PLENTY that is still happening over there, but for some reason, they are taking a news pause. Perhaps they realized how exhausted we all were, and they're letting us catch some zzzzzzzzs.
