I know these rallies (whether at Provo or Salt Lake City) will require a bit of a 'road trip' for some of us, but remember that
the troops have taken a far longer and more dangerous road trip! There is a hight likelyhood that the media will be there so excellent turnout will be nice. Let's dress appropriately (remember the yellow) and be sure to be a stark contrast to the 'anti-war' (anti-Bush/pro-Saddam) civil disobedience crowds with out marked civility and maturity.

Sorry, I'm a redhead and look hideous in yellow, so I can't make it (/kidding)
LOL!! Seriously, I'm going to plan to attend. Please FReepmail me and maybe we can hook up. Are we doing signs and such? I could also use some advice on parking, etc, I don't get into downtown SL much, unless it's to go eat at the Macaroni Grill. Mmmmm, maybe an early dinner is in order Saturday!

I may bring a "Liberate Iraq, Support our Troops sign". However, I'm undecided. I WILL bring a US flag, however.
If you know how to get to the Capitol, parking shouldn't be a problem (a nice spot is in the church lot just accross from the front of the capitol building). Otherwise, there are lots adjacent to the building as well as some street parking.
In terms of getting freepers together...I'm not the most familiar with the area either but how would meeting at the bottom of the 'lowest' stairs (i.e. first steps next to/from the road) in front of the captiol between 11:45 and 12:15 sound?...

OK, sounds good. You'll recognize me right away - I'll be wearing a yellow shirt.
To: soccer8
I'll be there....with wife and kids in tow.
..or maybe they will be towing me....
Either way......

Hi Soccer8, I'll leave you to do the official after-action report, but 'd like to say what a pleasure it was to meet you, and I think the rally was a great success! Do you have web space to post pictures?
To: soccer8
Here's a link to
KSL's website with a story and a video. I think it's hysterical that the tiny cadre of anti-war protestors felt the need to be miles away!
To: soccer8
OK here's the link to the story in the
Salt Lake Tribune this morning, but I'm very disappointed that they didn't bother to print a picture. I saw it on channel 2 news last night - pretty cool!

I'll try to get the 'after action' report up today. It was a lot of fun. Too bad we missled Excuse_my... and redrock. They were probably in the crowd somewhere! I think I can get webspace for photos (I'll send you my e-mail address tomorrow so that you can get them to me).

I was there with husband, sister (luvtheconstitution), six kids and in-laws, and 11 grandchildren. It was fun, and a good memory for the children.
