Prime Minister Jean Chrétien's son-in-law is a top official on Total-Fini...the French Oil company..

Yeah, it's rich isn't it. The Axis of Weasels are meeting right now and they insist that they're the Axis of Peace.

Heck, Laura, they don't even have power. I think that the Provisional Government will make some arrangements. I want us to get those computers back. I want to see what's on 'em.

I am listening to Sean Hannity now ripping Pelosi apart on revising history on her own comments over the last couple of weeks. Great comments about if the libs had their way, the kids that we released from prison this week would still be in prison.

You may find this hard to believe, but in Canada CNN is considered to be a pro-U.S., flag-waving, George W. Bush Propaganda Network.

Yes. Seriously. Of course, compared to our own government-funded CBC, it arguably is.

CNN's superficial and saccharine 'support-the-troops' coverage hides their actual seditious agenda well enough to confuse foreigners, anyway.

Heck, even your own peace-punks think CNN is a Whitehouse mouthpiece.

I have been wanting to toss this topic out too: Why don't they just let the Kurds stake their own claim? (like a state). I'm afraid if they don't get what they want, that one of these days, some jerk on CNN will be saying "yeah, and we armed them and trained them--".
They may be tomorrow's problem.

Let us not forget that classic: "Don't Ask, Don't Tell".

Thanks for reminding me. That was Hillary's first attack on our military. And remember, she claimed that she tried to join the marines? Yeah, right.

"Do you suppose CNN shared their knowledge (I refuse to use the word intelligence and CNN in the same sentence) with the Bush White House? Perhaps the location of the torture chambers? Perhaps the names of the torturers? Perhaps the names of the tortured - so our Special Ops could talk to them and get them out of harm's way just before the invasion?"

I found him! Heh heh heh

The Beeb is interviewing Syrian FM Mustafa and Kurdish FM Talabani.

Syrian saying the Iraqis are upset that their liberation is vain. How can they be happy, are they happy with all the tank.

Talabani saying yes there looting but this is a short-term situation. Saying they have lived with this tyranny for so long they are releasing this energy.

Saying do not catergorize the Arabs as one.

NEW YORK (Hollywood Reporter) - As networks began to redeploy journalists in Iraq, a convoy of CBS staffers -- including anchor Dan Rather -- learned firsthand Thursday about the harrowing nature of covering the war without the protection of U.S. or British troops.

Rather reported on the scary high-speed journey for "CBS Evening News" via videophone.

Heading up from Amman, Jordan, at about 1 a.m. EDT, the group eventually arrived safely at a 3rd Infantry checkpoint 20 miles south of Baghdad. But not before a close encounter with a troop of Iraqi soldiers and police officers in which he and the CBS crew members ran for their lives.

According to Rather's report for CBS Radio, after an uneventful and desolate ride from the Jordanian border, they reached the village of Ar Ramadi, about 60 miles from Baghdad, where the CBS crew decided it was too dangerous to hang around all night. As they were leaving a gas station, a handful of men holding rifles -- some in Republican Guard uniforms -- drove up in Toyota pickup trucks and a police car and tried to block the group from exiting a gas station.

As the Iraqis shouted at the group, the CBS trucks sped away in pitch darkness, hearing rifle shots behind them, Rather said. Several trucks and the police car chased them for "a number of miles."

"We thought, especially with a police car behind us, you're tempted to stop because you're thinking, 'Well, maybe this is border, maybe they're not hostile, they just want to stop us and talk to us, check our papers, whatever it may be,"' he said. "We were scared. We just wanted to continue on down the road. We were going somewhere around 100 miles an hour, but we kept our cool. We kept uniform."

Were they in danger? Rather was not sure. "Maybe they were just trying to scare us off, but we weren't going to hang around to find out if that's what it was," he said.

"DAMMIT! They have no right to make us act ashamed of who we are. This is wrong on SO many levels. This makes me want to puke.

To plant a flag is symbolic of "conquering" and "occupation". We are just trying not to freak the entire arab world out. So many Iraqis are suspicious about our being there, that it is apparently necessary to tone it down alittle. I had mis-givings about having old glory gracing the head of a brutal, tyrannical dictator of the lowest form, so I'm not concerned that they took the flag off saddams head. (it should have been wrapped in a roll of bun-wad)

I don't like it either, but if it keeps our true enemies stupid a bit longer...
