(AP) Elizabeth Smart's family has hired a Los Angeles entertainment attorney to help them screen movie and book proposals about Elizabeth's abduction and remarkable return.
Kelly Crabb, who reportedly has negotiated contracts for Paul McCartney, Dave Matthews and Muhammad Ali, was hired a week ago, said Chris Thomas, the family's spokesman.
According to his firm's Web site, Crabb's areas of practice include motion picture, television and other programming production and financing; composer agreements, personal appearances and motion picture distribution.
"These kind of contracts are very specialized," Thomas said.
Crabb received bachelor's and master's degrees from Brigham Young University before earning a law degree from Columbia University in 1984. He also worked for the Salt Lake Organizing Committee.
Elizabeth, now 15, was abducted from her bedroom on the night of June 5. On March 12, she was found in a Salt Lake suburb with her alleged kidnappers.

Okay, YOU explain why rumor and innuendo about this little girl and her family is always preferred over the simple facts of the case.
Like I have asked of several people here: What IS your agenda?

You will never be able to point to a single instance where a "Mormon" has "attacked someone just because they didn't adhere to their beliefs." Not a single one.
You are so deserving of prayer

Mitchell was never "invited into the Smart home." He came there for five hours, one afternoon, and worked on top of the roof of the house WITH ED SMART. That was the extent of his "help." Period
Apparently, this distinction is very important to you.
At any rate, I was talking about lessons I learned, not implying anything about Ed Smart.
No body enters through my front gate unless he is invited.
Whether the person stays at my front porch, at my house roof, or comes down to drink water at my patio area is still too close for comfort, having children running around the yard.

"So did the Klaases. So did the van Damms. Do did the mother of Samantha in San Diego. Your point? What is your problem? Come on, out with it. What is your REAL agenda?"Calm down..deep breaths.
I don't recall the "others" doing any photo copyrights on their kids. Besides, those poor kids were killed..so I couldn't even begin to bring them into this issue.
What's my REAL agenda? ROTFLMAO....nice try, Illbay. I happen to think the parents are out to make a "buck"...and you don't. What's the big deal here?

He may, or he may not, but if he does, what I'm saying is that they're donating the profits to charity. Isn't that what you would do? Actually, what I would do would be to stop feeding the media circus. I would try and protect the privacy of my daughter.
To: spectre
Hi Spec, did you see the note that said they were donating their share to national center for missing kids? That's not too shabby.

Tell me, how do they stop the movies? You can't. You can't stop someone from making a movie about it.

Oh, are you talking about your thread entitled "Failed Prophecies of Joseph Smith"?
Are you really so vacuous that you don't realize you're proving my point every time you post?
Want to try again, or are you going to continue to be a laughing-stock?

A teenager runs away from home, due partially to oddball parents and whatever else, she returns, and the parents capitalize (financially) on the whole despicable situation. Sick, just sick.

I would not have done what the Smarts did, either, but I live in Houston, TX, not Salt Lake City, UT.
Years ago, I lived in "L.A." (that's "lower Alabama" for the uninformed) and no one locked their cars, no one locked their doors or windows.
Different "rules" apply in different places. I am sure that a lot of people changed their habits after Elizabeth was grabbed.

You are hopeless, because I made NO attack on LDS. You have been attacking everyone who is not LDS, for no reason a lot of the time.
The report of E. Smart meeting with Mitchell to do charitable work has nothing to do with the LDS church. It actually makes sense of a lot of the incongruencies in the story. The story in no way cast blame on E. Smart, either. If you were a little more rational you would see that. You are like the Mormon SS, trying to enforce mind control on all non-believers.

I'm sorry, I meant that post to go to Illbay or whatever his name is. He is just driving me crazy with his irrational accusations. He really gives the LDS church a bad name.
