Commuters Sound Off on Traffic-Blocking Rallies (FREEPER MENTION)

Blocking traffic is the tactic of choice these days among anti-war protesters. But just how effective can it be, when it angers commuters and packs police precincts with arrested activists?

Counter-demonstrators who support the U.S. effort in Iraq, meanwhile, say they are the ones in the majority. They cite polls showing about 70 percent of the country backing the war effort.

"We're starting to see quite a bit of it on the streets," Scott Swett, chairman of the Free Republic Network, told Fox News. "People are interested in taking a stand and having their voices heard.

Swett's group helps promote pro-troop rallies and anti-war counter-demonstrations throughout the country.

It is my understanding that the left is doing practice runs, hoping for another terrorist attack in the U.S. They then intend to use these traffic blocking techniques to prevent the movement of emergency vehicles to where they are needed. Do we need to know anymore about their sympathies?

Hooray for Free Republic and the great job being done by all connected to it.

Meantime, the Left is in disarray. 'Rats and their disparate interest groups—the feminazis, the gay-stapo, da yuuunions, treehuggers, and these whiney punk-@$$ anti-war protestors—are all backstabbing, infighting and eating each other's lunch. BWAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!

This image, in and of itself, is a good enough reason for getting up before dark. ;op Thanks!

Here are my thoughts on the subject.

First off, unless I'm mistaken, Fox News is not part of the WP/LAT nonsense so if you wanted to post a full article from there you could do so.

Secondly, I don't give a rat's you know what what anyone says. There absolutely, postively NO first amendment right to disrupt someone right in this way. I can say this much, I'd run over these idiots if they tried to get in my way.

Whether anyone wants to believe it or not there is public support for this war. Anyone saying otherwise is a liar. That's all there is to it.
Regards.

If they were to do something that stupid, the police probably wouldn't be needed to break them up. I imagine that the general public on the scene will probably beat them all to death. If they were to try that, it would only happen once. I think the blow-back from an enraged public would be quite savage (justifiably) in nature.

"The point of view of people obstructing traffic … is that it's not OK and you shouldn't just be a happy little worker bee and a consumer going about your business while your government is going about killing hundreds or thousands of people in another country."

Remember when it used to be 500,000 dead Iraqi Children?

Yep, that would be me.

I don't have any management role at FR -- I'm the chairman of the Free Republic Network, which supports the FR chapters.

The quote in this article is taken from my appearance last week on Fox & Friends -- The Shrew was kind enough to post the transcript.

I saw your interview last week on Fox & Friends. Called apackof2 to let her know there was going to be a freeper on the show. Great interview, but they should have let you sit on the panel for the rest of the morning!!!

Thanks, but I was fortunate to be on at all, since it was a very busy news morning that included a long briefing from CENTCOM. I was originally scheduled for 8:15 and actually went on at 8:55. Fox & Friends is over at 9, so they did let me stay to the end of the show. :)>

You did well. Even got a chuckle from the newsroom when you mentioned the other side's "peace riots". Damned funny.
