Iraqi TV: Saddam Hussein (or double)walking down street
Fox News via Iraqi TV | 4/4/2003 | Fox News via Iraqi TV

Video shows Saddam walking down alleged Baghdad Street. Typical Iraqi celebration with Iraqis dancing on street with guns. Saddam embracing a kid. I think you can see a fire the background from an oil well. Overcast day.

VIDEO IS PROBABLY FROM 1991 (note the jackets the Iraqis were wearing)

A little History...

The launch of Desert Storm, the allied military operation led by the United States to liberate Kuwait, was no surprise.

If the Iraqi army had not withdrawn from its southern neighbour by 15 January as demanded, a UN Security Council resolution authorised the use of force to reverse the invasion.

What came on the 16 January at 23:30 GMT was a devastating and sustained aerial bombardment involving cruise missiles launched from US warships and US, British and Saudi Arabian fighter planes, bombers and helicopters.

More than 1,000 sorties were flown in the first 24 hours of Desert Storm. The main targets were military, but Baghdad, the Iraqi capital, was heavily hit and there were many civilian casualties.

All over the world, television audiences were able to watch the war unfold on their television screens.

By the end of February, the Iraqi army had made a desperate retreat from Kuwait. A three-day land campaign ended on 27 February when US President George Bush declared victory.

Has anyone noted that there's NO MOLE on the left side of this Saddam's face?

You'd think Susan Sarandon could have sent over her make-up man to do a more competent job than this.

LOL, bad news for the doubles alright. Let's hope the Doctors are sick of Saddam and accidently on purpose, remove the left arms and legs of the doubles.

I've only seen this once on FNC during Cavuto and it went by quickly. I was looking specifically at what FR's here said about "SH" looking Asian and civilians wearing jackets. "SH" did indeed look very Asian, VERY refreshed, and not at all like what we've been lead to believe is the real SH. I did not see anyone in long coats and jackets, but many in regular cotton-looking shirts and some with short sleeves or with sleeves rolled up.

"There's no way that can be recent - Saddam would NEVER walk down the middle of the street knowing that Americans are so close.

I'll bet this is right after the cease-fire of Gulf War I."

Exactly what I was thinking too. I have seen this clip several times and there are several elements about it that just don't ring true. In the first place, it does NOT look like Saddam, at least not the same Saddam that appeared in the earlier video. Not only that, but the age of the Saddam walking in the streets is apparently quite a bit younger than the real Saddam.

Also, the mood is all wrong for the gravity of the situation. It is much more like the scene you would see at the conclusion of a war, not in the midst of one.

All that said, I do believe that something of import is going on and I have this sense of suspended animation just waiting to hear what it was, a sense that now, more than ever, we need to be praying for our troops.

Even I who have never sold a cartoon, but collected acres and acres of reject slips, know that the foot board of the bed closest to the viewer, should appear twice as wide as the head board. That point out of the way-ROFLMAO!

THat is obviousely Peter Arnett: Question is, did he prostitute himself to the real Saddam......or just one of his doubles?

O.k., in the past few days, I've read lots of posts from folks who have devoted way more thought and analysis than I have in putting thumbs up or thumbs down on whether a video of Sadsack was legit. But even a cursory glance at this latest footage screams: DOUBLE, DOUBLE, DOUBLE! No way it is he.

Trouble is that they keep making them.Every male child that passes puberty and grows a mustache, turns into a Saddam double-a bunch of the females too.

If it was taken today and the great dictator was walking around against a cloudy sky--I ask, what were the weather conditions today?

I don't think it was him.

Doubles have been paraded in front of the public for so long we probably don't know who to compare the tapes to--It's like Where's Waldo but with many Waldo lookalikes
