BillyBob!!! You are a dynamo and an inspiration - I admire your knowledge and dedication to the field of Constitutional Law. It's always fun to read one of your posts and understand the foundations of our government a little better.

Keep up the great work. And Dutchess, thanks for the interview.

I've seen Congressman Billybob here and there on FR and have always admired his comments. Good to know more about him now. Our "home" here on FR is a better place with him on our side.

Just wanted to add one more thing. I received an email from my oldest in an "unknown" location in the Persian Gulf. I had sent him a comment from another Freeper and he responded. Here's his email. As you can tell we are a family of baseball fans.

====================

Dad&Mom

What up Dad? Yeah, it looks like Mike is doing pretty well. His stats are the best in his 4 yrs of college ball. I wish I was there to see it. This weekend is pretty big for his team. They need a sweep to get some breathing room for the playoffs. I actually saw some espn baseball highlights on opening day. It was so nice to see some of home.

Yeah, I wish we could see all the news. We do get AFN and CNN headlines and FOXnews, but only in short spurts. Oh, and espn every now and then. When I get home I will fill you in on all the details of what we are doing. It is truly incredible. I will never forget it.

Even if the Rangers suck, it will be nice to go see them play when I get back. I will have to take my unborn son.(crossed fingers) Get him started early.

You can tell the Freepers that I and everyone here deeply appreciates all the support, it means so much to know that our work is not unnoticed, and some Americans care.

Anyway, good to hear from you, I better go, starving, time for some food. Flew last night and didn't get in til around 0300. Hot as a mofo here today. The a/c can't keep up.

Take care and talk you soon. Love Brian

I am reminded of a comment by Mark Twain who said, in a difficult circumstance, "I feel like the man who is being ridden out of town on a rail. If it wasn't for the honor of the thing, I'd rather walk."

Dutchess, I deeply appreciate the effort you put in to this to make it attractive and successful every week for every victim (excuse me, honoree).

To All Others Posting Here: I am leaving in minutes to go to Raleigh for a live radio broadcast this afternoon. I cannot get back home, and on the computer, until late tomorrow.

My bride, Felicity Farhquar, may put in some choice remarks on my behalf before then. When I get back, I will go on the thread and reply to everyone who's addressed me, for better or worse.

(Blushing beneath his crown*), I remain,

Congressman Billybob

Congressman Billybob: Congratulations for some well-deserved recognition. It is a pleasure and an honor to know you and we have certainly had a lot of fun freeping together on the streets of Washington, D.C.

Good morning, dutchess - what's left of it! I looked for this thread last night after we finished 'chatting', but you must have gone to bed after all instead of posting it so early in the morning. It just looks great, Sistah dear!

And, Billybob, I wanted to tell you I've been seeing your posts on FR and remember the first time I 'saw' you was in photos taken at the FR Inaugural Ball. There were so many photos from almost everyone who was there, and I know I looked at ALL of them! Do you remember a thread I did after that, called "The Boys of FR (Part I - HatTricks)"? You were there (you are here) LOL! (This is a larger file than I like to post here - my apologies in advance)

Believe it or not, the first case I ever tried as a lawyer was not a fender-bender accident, or a marijuana cigarette case, but a First Amendment challenge to the election laws of Maryland which went all the way to the Supreme Court.

Here we go again with f@%$ing Maryland! Arrrgh!

NC Ping for our own Congressman Billybob.

I had the honor, as many of you Raleigh area FReepers did, to meet John on 3/22/03 at the Rally For America at the State Capital. He was a wonderful and engaging speaker and had the crowd laughing out loud at his antics.

I felt as if I had already met him by listening to CBB on WPTF radio for the past several Mondays on the drive-by education series. I learned so much from his talks on the Bill of Rights these past few weeks.

I've also had the pleasure of visiting Highlands NC several years ago and can only imagine the beautiful, serenity of living there. I may take you up on your offer of a drink on your lovely deck John. I will bring the drinks though

Thank you for adding so much to FR. We are a much better place because of you.

MKM
