POW Family Denies Daughter Shot, Stabbed

By ALLISON BARKER .c The Associated Press

PALESTINE, W.Va. (AP) - The father of rescued POW Army Pfc. Jessica Lynch said Thursday that she was in great spirits following her first surgery and denied reports she was shot and stabbed during her captivity in Iraq.

``We have heard and seen reports that she had multiple gunshot wounds and a knife stabbing. The doctor has not seen any of this,'' Gregory Lynch Sr. said.

". Expending a batallion of Marines as a decoy and sending in a full SEAL team and a full Army CAG team to save one female Pfc. "

They do it all the time for male PFCs as well. Is that different? We go after our POWs. I wouldn't have it any other way.

Odd, why not fly to Germany to see her?

OK, everyone step back and take a deep breath (after counting to 10). the point is, she's safe and that our fabulous guys rescued her. let's just hope there will be more POW's being rescued and that EVERYONE returns to the USA.
let's stop the cynicism for awhile.

Expending a batallion of Marines as a decoy and sending in a full SEAL team and a full Army CAG team to save one female Pfc. is not a wise expenditure of limited resources in a battle theatre. Arguing otherwise seems foolish.

Hey, you forgot to throw in your dig from the other thread about her being white as the reason for her being saved.

I'm happy that Jessica is going to be returned to her family.

I can't help wondering, however, how many of the eleven corpses were murdered by Iraqis to intimidate young Jessica.

Women in combat zones and American values seem to me to be a contradiction. I have believed all of my life that any nation placing their women in combat roles isn't worth defending. I realize that there are many who are far more comfortable than myself in beefing up the combat troops with female soldiers.

How effective would our military be with a 50-50 split?

It makes them Democrats.

We are supposed to be the thoughtful thinking people, not the hysterical emotional drama queens.

Sheesh!

"Odd, why not fly to Germany to see her?"

They were probably advised by the military not to go. She's being debriefed, and will be flown to the US as soon as possible. They'll be able to see her then. Military hospitals are not really equipped for visitors in cases like this. But, that's just speculation. I have seen similar things done in other conflicts. PFC Lynch will soon be back in the USA.

Oh come on Poo.
The people that want all the info before they make their assessment were called detractors by you and your cohorts both here but especially here:

and in quite venomous terms, I might add.

With the revelations by the parents on this thread, the egg man might be coming... But in the meantime, I'll reserve judgment.

Remember, in war, truth is the first casualty. -- somebody famous-Churchill, I think.

I agree 100%

The mass hysteria and Congressional Medal honors did it for me.

She was tough to survive, but she was able to because of the color of her hair.

Actually, my husband, who is a Vietnam Veteran, said the same thing. This is true.

In order for one to earn the Congressional Medal of Honor, the deed must be witnessed.

...to let the rest of our soldiers know what they're dealing with. It's also good publicity to show what kind of animals the ragheads are.

Correction.

They found "shredded" American female uniforms.

To what extent do you want the privacy of Pfc. Lynch invaded? Or doesn't she have any now that she's been rescued?

Actually, I never proposed her for any medal, but there are a lot of medals, from the Bronze Star to the Medal of Honor that can be awarded for valor.
