Right,,and that is why the post war plan is even more important than we know. We must carry thru with the mission and do a great job, sort of like post WWII.

Al Gore being Al Gore. Hasn't won a general election in Tennessee since the 80's.(except riding the Clintoon bandwagon.) Kept him out of the White House. Because we learned who he was long before the rest of the country.

Subject: Martin Savidge Interview - Phone Calls To Home (CNN live interview with Martin Savidge on Sunday, 30 March 2003)

Martin Savidge of CNN, embedded with the 1st Marine battalion, 1st Marine Division, was talking with 4 young Marines near his foxhole this morning live on CNN. He had been telling the story of how well the Marines had been looking out for and taking care of him since the war started. He went on to tell about the many hardships the Marines had endured since the war began and how they all look after one another.

He turned to the four and said he had cleared it with their commanders and they could use his video phone to call home. None of these Marines had been able to talk with their families for many weeks. The 19 year old Marine next to him asked Martin if he would allow his platoon sergeant to use his call to call his pregnant wife back home whom he had not been able to talk to in over a month. A stunned Savidge, who was visibly moved by the request, nodded his head - yes. The young Marine ran off to get the sergeant.

Savidge recovered after a few seconds and turned back to the three young Marines still sitting with him. He asked which one of them would like to call home first?

The Marine closest to him responded with out a moments hesitation, "Sir, if is all the same to you we would like to call the parents of a buddy of ours. Lance Cpl Brian Buesing of Cedar Key, Florida, who was killed on the 23rd of March near Nasiriya. We would like to see how his folks are doing and let them know their son died bravely."

At that Martin Savidge totally broke down and was unable to speak.

All he could get out before signing off was,

"Where do they get young men like this?!"

Al Gore said in Athens that he wouldn't have started this war.

The Goron and his boss, Clinton-the-Venery, should have taken care of Saddam during their 8 year Reign of (T)error.

The "doctor" at the hospital where Pvt. Lynch was being held was a pharmacists. I also noticed that there was a patient in bed at the hospital. Of course, the patient was in the middle of the lobby and not in a regular room. I don't know about you, but the hospitals in this area just don't set up a bed in the middle of the lobby.

Of course, it was being used as command & control, and one report I heard this morning said that Chemical Ali was using the hospital for his HQ.

The only thing SG left out of her recap was that after the col. offering MRE with "chicken or beef", the mother started laughing in the middle of this terrifying episode.

yikes, see I don't need to sleep! I need TIVO.

I was up until 3 in the a.m. one night because the Sky News guy was covering a firefight on Fox. My hubby got mad because I didn't wake him up.

I for one, who have always had an appreciation for our military, have a different perspective, a better one, and undersstanding of what goes on. People complain it is like a video game to the TV watchers, but it really brings the war to a new light.

The marines get young men and turn them into men like that. I have been incredibly impressed over the years with young marines,,they are the best. Rather like young baseball players, college ones, they are the same wholesome decent American kids. I think the services do alot for young people.

I'm not too worried about a trial. I think what our guys have seen will cause them to enact a little 'accidental' justice once the principles are unearthed.
