Philippians 1: 19; 27
Yes, and I will continue to rejoice,
for I know that through your prayers
and the help given by the Spirit of Jesus Christ,
what has happened to me will turn out for my deliverance.
Whatever happens, conduct yourselves in a manner
worthy of the gospel of Christ.
We bow our heads before You on this Holy Sabbath, giving thanks for Your providence during this past week and trusting You for Your provision in all things in the week that lies ahead. Father, we know that with You, there are no coincidences---no accidents, no happenstance. Just as You brought our President forward to serve this nation during this time, so have You brought us together as a body of believers to pray for him at this time. We bless Your Name, for You have been faithful to hear and respond to every prayer spoken in earnest as we have gathered together here.
We pray for Your hand to guide President Bush this week as he faces new challenges in the war effort as well as on the domestic front. Please direct his path so that every decision he makes will bring honor and glory to You, Father. We pray that You would let everything that happens to our President turn out for his deliverance. Help him always to conduct himself in a manner worthy of the gospel of Christ. Let him not grow weary in doing good. Help him to pray for his enemies, especially those from his own country. Help him to know that Your approval is all that matters and that You will reward his faithfulness. Father, may our prayers of faith bring down Your highest blessings upon him, and may every need be supplied according to Your riches in glory through Christ Jesus.
Father, we pray for Your protection of our brave troops as the battle of Baghdad nears. We ask that Your Holy Spirit would cover every corner of this important city, offering protection, wisdom, and strength for each man and woman fighting for the Coalition. Protect the innocent, Lord, and cause the Iraqi leadership to crumble---that they may turn against Hussein and that the unspeakable terror of this vile and inhuman regime may end. Place Your strong arms around all of our troops regardless of their location, that they may receive your blessings and Your strength to carry forth their duties.
Bless the fallen, Lord, and give courage to their families. How we mourn for every single lost hero. Hear our prayers for their souls, Great God. Thank You for every single life, for none has died in vain.
Father, please protect us here at home. Protect Your people, Israel. Help us to continue to place our trust in You and to prevail in prayer. We love You, Most Holy God, and we lift these prayers to You in the Name of the Messiah, our Savior Jesus Christ. Amen.
O God, come to my aid. O Lord, make haste to help me.
Glory be to the Father and to the Son and to the Holy Spirit, as it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.
Psalm 109(110)
The Messiah, king and priest
The Lord has said to my lord: "Sit at my right hand while I make your enemies into your footstool".
From Sion the Lord will give you a sceptre, and you will rule in the midst of your foes. Royal power is yours in the day of your strength, glorious and holy; from the time of your birth, before the dawn.
The Lord has sworn, and he will not repent: "You are a priest for ever, a priest of the priesthood of Melchisedech".
The Lord is at your right hand, and on the day of his anger he will shatter kings.
He will judge the nations, he will pile high their skulls; he will drink from the stream as he goes - he will hold his head high.
Glory be to the Father and to the Son and to the Holy Spirit, as it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.
Heavenly Father, You have been gracious enough to allow our troops to score a great success. I humbly thank You for your help, and I hope that they will continue to receive it. Let us never forget that without You we would never have been able to achieve anything. True, we made use of our talents but they were given to us by You, and so was the drive that impelled us to use them. May we always strive to utilize all our talents to the very best of our ability--whether we achieve success or not. For we will in this way be achieving the goal that You have set out for us in Your wisdom and becoming the person that You want us to be. Amen.
Mine eyes have seen the glory of the coming of the Lord;
He is trampling out the vintage where the grapes of wrath are stored;
He hath loosed the fateful lightning of His terrible swift sword;
His truth is marching on.
Glory! Glory! Hallelujah! Glory! Glory! Hallelujah!
Glory! Glory! Hallelujah! His truth is marching on.
I have seen Him in the watch fires of a hundred circling camps
They have builded Him an altar in the evening dews and damps;
I can read His righteous sentence by the dim and flaring lamps;
His day is marching on.
Glory! Glory! Hallelujah! Glory! Glory! Hallelujah!
Glory! Glory! Hallelujah! His day is marching on.
I have read a fiery Gospel writ in burnished rows of steel;
As ye deal with My contemners, so with you My grace shall deal;
Let the Hero, born of woman, crush the serpent with His heel,
Since God is marching on.
Glory! Glory! Hallelujah! Glory! Glory! Hallelujah!
Glory! Glory! Hallelujah! Since God is marching on.
He has sounded forth the trumpet that shall never call retreat;
He is sifting out the hearts of men before His judgment seat;
Oh, be swift, my soul, to answer Him! be jubilant, my feet;
Our God is marching on.
Glory! Glory! Hallelujah! Glory! Glory! Hallelujah!
Glory! Glory! Hallelujah! Our God is marching on.
In the beauty of the lilies Christ was born across the sea,
With a glory in His bosom that transfigures you and me:
As He died to make men holy, let us die to make men free
While God is marching on.
Glory! Glory! Hallelujah! Glory! Glory! Hallelujah!
Glory! Glory! Hallelujah! While God is marching on.
He is coming like the glory of the morning on the wave,
He is wisdom to the mighty, He is honor to the brave;
So the world shall be His footstool, and the soul of wrong His slave,
Our God is marching on.
Glory! Glory! Hallelujah! Glory! Glory! Hallelujah!
Glory! Glory! Hallelujah! Our God is marching on.
Words: Julia Howe, 1861. Music: 19th Century American tune
Who will bring me into the beseiged city?...Wilt Thou not go forth with our armies, O God? O give us help against the adversary, for deliverance by man is in vain. Through God we shall do valiantly, and it is HE who will tread down our adversary. -- Ps. 60:9(a), 10(b)-12 (NASB)
And AMEN!
Good morning, girls. : )
