***Operation Iraqi Freedom - Situation Room - Day 11 - LIVE THREAD***
Everywhere! | 30 Mar 2003 | An.American.Expatriate

Posted on 03/29/2003 9:01:35 PM PST by null and void

Good Morning.

This is the Daily Thread of Operation Iraqi Freedom - LIVE THREAD.

It is designed for general conversation about the events of the day. In depth discussion of events should be left to individual threads - but links to the threads or other articles is highly encouraged. This allows us to stay abreast of the situation in general, while also providing a means of obtaining specific information.

Please have mercy on us dial up limited FReepers! Limit the big graphics, post links instead. A breif description of what the graphic is would help:

To all who helped this get started, thank you!

Special thanks to An.American.Expatriate for staring the daily threads, Mo1 for the screamer, the AdminMods for their tolerance, mhking for the video links, and, of course, Belly Girl...

Just thinking about Blix. We have found chemical suits AND we know about the atropine. I can remember a article on a large purchase of atropine by Iraq well before the war. We know the Iraqi gas masks are new (dated 2002).

But I NEVER remember Blix addressing these. They would surely be part of a chemical weapons program. The Iraqi ministry says they're defensive. Blix says "so what" (my interpretation).

Agreed--but I'll be watching the rerun of Meet the Press tonight when Tim Russert tears chunks out of the Iraqi Ambassador to the UN. I may not get the spelling of his name right, but I do believe it's Ambassador Mother of All Combovers.

David Chater on Sky News is getting exceedingly annoying. He reported the most recent strike as being on civilians, and that over 600 were now dead. He reports this as fact, even though it comes straight from the Iraqi information minister.

He's become the British face of Iraqi propaganda.

Why Saradon was invited to speak before the Tampa United Way? Three words: St. Petersburg Times, aka Cheerleaders for Sami al-Arian.

I'm quite pleased that I can't seem to get the skynews link to work for past several days. My blood pressure doesn't need the aggravation.

Blix is leaving in June — he is disappointed. Sarandon was cancelled from a charity event — she is disturbed. Daschle is saddened, disappointed, and disturbed.

I was responding to your request for suggestions on another term to use. There was NO attack on you.
Never did I infer that you had used this word.

Overall, I'd say SkyNews is pretty good, except for their Baghdad coverage. Their live coverage in Basra is excellent.

And the History Channel merged with the New York Times — that's a subversive channel.
