Thanks for the heads up. This is the first I've heard about this one. Sent it to the folks in my email directory from Corinth to Memphis. And consider it bumped..........

Why didn't you post Metro Memphis Rally!?!? People outside the region may or may not have any idea where Olive Branch is ... could potentially hurt the draw.

Olive Branch City Park

Oh my gosh! I've been to Olive Branch! I'm from S. MS, and in 1976, when SSQ was just finishing up college (I'd graduated in 1974), the Priest who married us invited us to join him at an Ecumenical Bicentennial Revival in Olive Branch. SSQ and I, along with my cousin and one of his friends from RI who had come down South to go to school, and a girl from the Priest's parish on the coast formed a little singing group and did a set of songs for the revival. This was before the advent of videocameras, but I sure wish someone had a recording of us. We had such fun!

I think one of my nephews lives in Olive Branch. I'll have to send him a note and let him know about this!

How many people living outside of metropolitan Memphis have truly ever heard of Olive Branch?

Aside from the notion that most Northern Mississipians now believe they are a viable community w/o the need for Memphis ;) ...

By listing Olive Branch as MSA Memphis, it would give those persons visiting or close by a better idea of geography.
