Saddam is crude, artless and ignorant. I doubt anything could make us more angry than showing roughed up, captured troops.

We are not the intended audience. Internal consumption and arab consumption.

They opened up the Houghton-Mifflin textbook on "Running the War" and found the "show the POWs" chapter circa Vietnam. No matter there may not be any POWs.
These losers are fighting without leadership or purpose. If they don't surrender soon they are utterly insane.

Propaganda seems to work both ways, I believe it was reported that the Iraqi VP was assasinated on the first morning of the war.
Also what happened to the Allies claims of 8000 Iraqi troops.
This is War and although we suport our troops, we should not listen to the politicians of either side and follow them like sheep.

Neal Boortz on his web site
Neal Boortz Friday had a paragraph about American soldiers being taken prisoner. I tried to pull it up but, for some reaon there is no link to Friday's program notes.

So far, and this is watching here and there so as not to lose perspective on daily family life, the war seems one sided in so far as stratedgy, firepower and technology.
All I have read or seen on TV is talk from the Iraqi spokesmen. Kinda like the last twelve years when they threaten a big Jihad.
I hope this continues so we can get the job done and get home.
It is hard to say not knowing what the whole picture looks like. I would think the average Jo has the same perspective.

I heard yesterday and several months ago about a girlfreind of SH who is actually a double agent.
Yesterday is the second time I heard a refferal to her.
Who is this woman?
And if she indeed is feeding the CIA inside info what a way to be backstabbed by your lover.
I am curious now who she is and what her story is. She has to be very brave playing the black widow role.

Note the sources: Reuters, AP
They have lost ALL credibility by being willing to post this obvious lie.
Remember that when you look at their bylines in the future.

They have an operational TV station in Baghdad ??
Target of opportunity.
Also if they execute our POW on line TV (remember the promised beheadings ?); conduct unrestricted warfare on Iraq until capitulation.
Can you imagine how the Marines are going to react if they execute the prisoners ?

Gvien the Iraqis' lousy production values, I'm expecting sock puppets. Or Scott Ritter in a false mustache.

It could be those British Air men who were hit by the Patriot. Not a good thing that they were captured but not the worst if they are alive.

Will this be where those American uniforms get used that Iraq purchased??? And where will they get the prisoners?:
"Yes, I am prisoner...I from Saint Louis, Virginia. Iraq treat good prisoners..we watch basketball squadrons play on TV."

They said 'coalition troops' - that could be British.

Could also be some special ops personnel. We usually don't announce those losses until the war is over, if then.

Well, this is one more guy we claimed we'd killed.
I'm beginning to dismiss all news reports from this war. Let me know when the military governor takes charge.

I gotta see this. They'll probably trot out clean-shaven local Iraqis in green coveralls looking dazed and scared. I doubt the Iraqi military is smart enough to remove the Roto-Rooter and Dave's Cleaning Service patches from the "flight suits".
To: GLDNGUN
I can't for the life of me explain to myself why Iraqi TV and radio stations weren't taken out first thing.
Since the enemy is militarily unable to win, they have fallen back on propaganda, lies, disinformation and all sorts of psych-ops (just as we utilize on them.)
The Iraqi steady drumbeat of propaganda is not only beamed at its own populace but at the rest of the world. They hope for successes by political means, i.e., softening up governments world-wide. There's aways those who believe their lies or want to believe them no matter how outrageous they are.
Hope today will see bombing of Baghdad's entire public information apparatus.
If not, why not? I understand we want certain parts of the Baghdad infrastucture to remain intact. But restoring TV and other media systems are much easier to restore post-war than broken bridges and exploded power plants.
