IRAQ VP Says They Will Show Captured Coalition Troops
Reuters, AP | 3/23/03

Reporting that Iraq VP say they will show footage of American POWs. Only problem is that we aren't reporting any missing troops.

Will this be where those American uniforms get used that Iraq purchased???

Propaganda seems to work both ways, I believe it was reported that the Iraqi VP was assasinated on the first morning of the war.

Also what happened to the Allies claims of 8000 Iraqi troops.

This is War and although we suport our troops, we should not listen to the politicians of either side and follow them like sheep.

Neal Boortz on his web site Neal Boortz Friday had a paragraph about American soldiers being taken prisoner. I tried to pull it up but, for some reaon there is no link to Friday's program notes.

So far, and this is watching here and there so as not to lose perspective on daily family life, the war seems one sided in so far as stratedgy, firepower and technology.

All I have read or seen on TV is talk from the Iraqi spokesmen. Kinda like the last twelve years when they threaten a big Jihad.

I hope this continues so we can get the job done and get home.

It is hard to say not knowing what the whole picture looks like. I would think the average Jo has the same perspective.

That post would seem to indicate you shouldn't be using that editorial "we" on supporting the troops.

If you weren't watching CNN I think I know where Saddam got his POWs. Bob Franken, CNN reporter based on a carrier, was talking about a search and rescue team.

This s & r team had a couple of missions the other night. One of those missions was 'unresolved'.

There you go, stuffed into those unis. Isn't that a "human shield" peacenut's worst nightmare? Being forced to wear a military uniform? LOL. If they are human shields, are we supposed to act like we care?

It would be a peacenut's worst nightmare. But it would be all our fault for starting the war in the first place. The little child's temper tantrum of 'look what you made me do.'

Personally, I wouldn't care if every human shield was killed. That end of the gene pool needs to cleaned out.

I heard yesterday and several months ago about a girlfreind of SH who is actually a double agent.

Yesterday is the second time I heard a refferal to her.

Who is this woman?

And if she indeed is feeding the CIA inside info what a way to be backstabbed by your lover.

I am curious now who she is and what her story is. She has to be very brave playing the black widow role.

If SH is alive why doesn't he hold up a copy of that days Washington Post or some publication known to us to prove it.

Like they do when they kill a hostage.

Can someone living here in the States get a subscription to a daily paper from your country?

It's been reported that a lot of Iraqi soldiers were simply disarmed and sent home. I'm willing to rely much more on the Coalition than the Iraqis for information.

Yes, it has been very one-sided. We've lost only 2 soldiers in actual combat. The others were casualties of accidents and in one case, sadly, sabotage.

"Fox is going very negative. Acting like Iraq is winning propoganda war. Arab world will buy react, so will peaceniks"

The Fox people are going negative for good reason. Since the very beginning I have been urging restraint in the dialogue by the conservative camp from making this war about "liberating" Iraqis. This war is not and should not be about doing any favors for the Iraqi people. This war is about toppling a regime that poses a serious threat to our country. This in no way is meant to be callous towards Iraqis, but the Arab civilization in that area is part of a long lasting civilization of people that has and can withstand almost complete subjugation for decades at a time. They should be afforded the respect to not be treated like a bunch of helpless imbeciles. Conservatives fell into the logic of the radical liberals by morphing their aregument into something familiar to some global affirmative action program. Our army should not be walking on egg shells in this military campaign, as portrayed in the fire fight in Umm Qasr. That whole area should have been reduced to rubble 5 minutes after it was discovered that there was going to be resistance.
The people of Iraq are proud people. Whether we say we are in there to free them or not, they surely care more about the fact that their land is being invaded by a foreign nation. It will be a bitter sweet war for them, as evidenced by the cool reception our soldiers recieved in Basrah by the Shia Muslims who have every reason to hate Saddam.

If there was any way the Allies could assasinate SH, they would and what better way to track him if he comes out of his bunker, just for the world press.

However if they do kill him, is there a reason to stay in Iraq ? Oh yes the Oil wells.

I noticed how all the allies press conferences, state clearly how they have saved the Iraqi oil wells for the Iraqi people, (It sounds more like a bad movie), and Wag the Dog comes to mind.

Soldiers of both sides have familes, do you think if they save the oil (which the normal Iraqi would never get any finacial reward from) that they would be happy if you have just killed their son, brother or father.

but WHO are these POWs???

BBC made reference to a possibility of some coalition personel captured in a current battle at Nazareia (sp?) but Sky News says the are no reports f captures but if they are genuine POWs, it could be special forces personel that weren't supposed to report in yet so noone knows they might be missing.

Either way, it looks unlikely that anyone was actually captured. It's the human shield idea....

Fox is going very negative. Acting like Iraq is winning propoganda war..

Depends on who is at the helm. These guys are desperate for any info, any opinion to fill time and occasionally they say dumb things or think out loud. These 1000 mph broadcast sessions have got to be tough to do. You are right about keeping controversy going - its a business and if they said "nothing new happening - here's our sports update..." everybody would immediately switch channels.

Exactly, it's completely possible that there were captures or missing but you don't advertize this until it benefits you.

Note the sources: Reuters, AP

They have lost ALL credibility by being willing to post this obvious lie.

Remember that when you look at their bylines in the future.

This is a War not a pantomine.

Sending enemy soldiers home if they surrender, while there is still a war on, is nothing more than complete incompetance, or Propaganda.

Look what happened in UM Qasr. They reported 2 days ago that they had taken the town, but there is fighting today, maybe this was from some of the soldiers they sent home.

I hope Tommy Franks can justify the deaths of allied soliders to their parents and take full responsibility for his incompetance, if he did truly send them home.......

They have an operational TV station in Baghdad ??

Target of opportunity.

Also if they execute our POW on line TV (remember the promised beheadings ?); conduct unrestricted warfare on Iraq until capitulation.

Can you imagine how the Marines are going to react if they execute the prisoners ?
