"The president directed the members that the Americans will try to defect and deny facts, but Dear God, these attempts will always fail because the party and the people are always ready for the enemy in any part of Iraq. The leader also confirmed his belief in victory....blah blah blah"

Every report I have heard tonight across all the channels have said(in reference to the W. Post article and their info since) that the debate is about if Saddam is dead/injured OR not. Don't know if he escaped and is laying low, playing cat or mouse, or dead/wounded. But one should consider that the Brits say that only 20% of the Republican Guard has surrendered. There was a firefight in Basrah within the last couple of hours. FNC just reported that wire reports say that some Marine advances have been halted 600' inside of Iraq by hostile fire. So hard to say.

But I can say with certainty that Fox never said what was posted to start this thread.

Here's my theory.

Saddam's alive.

His video is for real.

He spoke of a "crime." A very specific "crime." To some it was vague. But what if it was specific?

It sounded personal, this "crime." But he was reticent to reveal further.

His powerful sons were killed in the bombing. Or one was, one was just injured. Perhaps the info released that his son Uday got a brain aneurysm from a guard attacking him explains his death or entry to hospital. It would sound to us a lame cover story, but to Iraqis it might sound plausible. Uday has had violent incidents with guards.

I have to say...the guy on the tape shown after Saddam's headquarters was destroyed doesn't look like the guy qho's face we see plastered all over the airwaves or all over the web....not unless he lost a LOT of weight, REALLY fast. Which is possible, if he spend three months shaking in his boots while 'defiantly' challenging the US.
