Can we tone down the rumor posts?

I know some of us would love to the first to post the "Saddam is Dead" thread or the "MOAB Dropped on Palace" thread, but can we please refrain from posting rumors until you have a LINK.

Absolutely agree. We have to remember we have a world-wide readership. I know of at least one instance in the past few days in which in an in-theatre military individual has posted to our forum (merely thanking us for support), and it's reasonable to think that many of them are checking in for news.

We do them a disservice with rumor-posting.

I agree, expat. I can't tell you how much time I wasted yesterday clicking on to seductive titles only to see they were from Debka.

Debka is a self-aggrandizing, self-promoting, cloudy source, seeking only to promote its name and reputation through the dissemination of rumors and half-truths. Too many here are eagerly playing along with Debka's cynical game at the expense of us all. We are being used.

Agreed!! I would however add any NEWS from CNN, MSNBC, ABC, NBC, CBS also be excluded for they are all rumors as well. I would add FOX NEWS to that list except for the fact that at least they try to be FAIR AND BALANCED.
