Good morning. John wrote this Monday night immediately after President Bush's speech. We all know the war has started.
God Bless and bring our men and women home safely...and soon.

Thoughts and words to savor, as always, Dear John....
Seeing our Commander-in-Chief in February 2000 early in his quest to get the Republican nomination, I witnessed that day his transformation from the rather fumbling, stumbling tv persona in New Hampshire to a Man of Destiny.
Our cheering, applauding and caring last minute turnout so heartened and energized him, he shed the uncertainty and became the quietly confident and focused man who should and would be President!
What draws a shudder in my mind, as I read the essay, was the contrast with the probable headlines should algore have 'stolen' the Presidency:
- algore addresses the UN with speech about how Iraq is destroying all its Tinker Toys...
- algore lauds the foresight of France in promoting the Iraqi Oil for Peace Program for its investors.....
- Tippler Tipper plays the French National Anthem daily in the White House and orders only French wine be served at all State Dinners....
- algore takes a poll on what color suit to wear for the State of The UN Address.....
Waking from that nightmare, I realized anew, as I do daily, how blessed we are to have a True Leader.

Mornin' y'all. I need coffee!
Great essay as usual JH2. I just knew on Monday that this would be your topic of conversation. Only thing missing is lil tommy's hypocrisy from his statements about Saddam during the last administration.
I split my time last night watching Fox and then surfin' through all your links to articles about the attack. As I mentioned to you last night, no where in any of the articles is there any mention of this President launching an attack in a "Wag the Dog" fashion. Also, no aspirin factories were bombed, the Chinese embassy is still intact, and no camels suffered a cruise missile in the butt. :)
Meanwhile, I spent a couple of hours this morning outside the recruiting station encouraging our citizens to Support Our Troops. Lots of thumbs up, waves, BEEP! BEEPs! and not a single flip-off.
Now, where's that coffee?

John, you have outdone yourself. A very well written piece.
