Seeing our Commander-in-Chief in February 2000 early in his quest to get the Republican nomination, I witnessed that day his transformation from the rather fumbling, stumbling tv persona in New Hampshire to a Man of Destiny.
Our cheering, applauding and caring last minute turnout so heartened and energized him, he shed the uncertainty and became the quietly confident and focused man who should and would be President!
What draws a shudder in my mind, as I read the essay, was the contrast with the probable headlines should algore have 'stolen' the Presidency:
- algore addresses the UN with speech about how Iraq is destroying all its Tinker Toys...
- algore lauds the foresight of France in promoting the Iraqi Oil for Peace Program for its investors.....
- Tippler Tipper plays the French National Anthem daily in the White House and orders only French wine be served at all State Dinners....
- algore takes a poll on what color suit to wear for the State of The UN Address.....
Waking from that nightmare, I realized anew, as I do daily, how blessed we are to have a True Leader.
