I don't think he ever had a live link, just a small subheadline, quickly removed.

At this point, I have to believe this is bogus. Probably a rapid internet rumor which reached HLL's contact, Drudge, and many others.

The rumors will get fiercer as this thing gets underway. This morning, Azziz (sp?) was dead, had escaped/defected, and had been captured and was being questioned by U.S. authorities. All within minutes, and, of course, all false.

The time of attack does not need to be a surprise if the place of attack is a surprise. The extent of media coverage of troops in Kuwait reminds me of the TV showing the Marines practicing amphibious landings in 91.
