The tyrant will soon be gone. With those words, President Bush left no doubt with Saddam Hussein or with the world that the years of a brutal dictatorship in Iraq will soon be over. In an address to the American people, and to the Iraqi people, Bush reiterated the many steps for diplomacy and peace that the United States and her allies have followed in the past 12 years- to no avail. The President told the Iraqis that their liberation is near and warned any Iraqi soldiers to think twice before releasing chemical or biological weapons. Bush also issued warnings to any terrorists that, 'If our enemies dare to strike us, they and all who have aided them, will face fearful consequences.' Earlier in the day, Bush met with congressional leaders and outlined tonights speech, and ultimately prepared them for military conflict. Enjoy your daily dose of Dubya! I know I will.

One of my favorite singers is Michael Nesmith. Remember him from the Monkees? He was the one with the stocking cap. (see the bottom of my profile page for some links.) Anyway, he went on to have a wonderful solo career, and one of his songs is entitled "running from the grand ennui". It's how I feel about my life at the moment, so I thought I'd quote the great Papa Nez in my tagline. :-D
For any of you that don't know:
ennui:
Listlessness and dissatisfaction resulting from lack of interest; boredom

Peace like a river, mama.....
Talked with Eric for a long time tonight.....he's excited, ready to go, at peace.
We prayed together on the phone......the four of us. Little sister and mom shed tears after we hung up, but we are confident that he's going to be OK.

ANd yes I've call his office reapeatedly and told him: "What a sorry state of affairs it is for the dems when pelosi and daschle represent the "leadership." No wonder they are sinking like a lead balloon."
That if he would stand up for what was right others would follow. (He'd like to be a leader, but thinks the only was to get there is appease the East---Turn and bow)

Michael Nesmith? Too funny. I was a big Monkees fan in their heyday. My favorite was Mickey - the drummer.

Dubyah was what we all know he is: a decent and strong leader. God Bless him, and special prayers for all our troops, facing an anxious couple of days and nights until things start. Daschle .. was just what he is ..wimpy, whiny and downright rotten to our President .. and then he got a microphone stuck in his face and said he wouldn't change his vote on the war. Whatta worm!!! Thanks for your devotion, rin. Prayers for all of us, our wonderful country, and our loved ones.

Oh, I am so glad that Tony Blairs polls are going up. He has really stood by us during all of this, and who would have thought he would? Even Clinton, his old buddy is dissing him, so you know he is doing something right!
To: rintense
Heh, Heh, he's wearing his "serious suit". This was such a good speech. I like the fact that he said "Sadaam and his sons". Makes it real clear we're not going to accept any hereditary leaders in Iraq when this is all said and done.
I believe that Sadaam believes he'll survive this, and doesn't intend to leave. So be it; he has chosen his fate. I pray that he doesn't unleash Hell on the Iraqi people when it dawns on him that he was very wrong!

I followed the crowd, Davy was too cute for words.
Our President sure meant business tonight. I also loved the British ambassador to the UN's statement this morning. We'll take care of Saddam Hussein ourselves, thanks anyway.

I've had a prayer on my lips all day today for your Eric and all the other men and women in service to our country. I can't remember when I've been so compelled to pray non stop.
