This day, Lord, I pray that You would strike such fear and trembling in the hearts of the enemy, that each would have such a sense of the horror awaiting, that the only plan of escape would be their total surrender. Come upon the enemy with such might and power that they fall before You ... be the shield of our beloved military who stand before the enemy ... be their comforter and guide and their assurance; be the mainstay of the families who await.

We can do nothing, Lord ... You are our only hope ... show the world Your righteousness ... be glorified that all will know that Jesus Christ is Lord ... and in knowing, that every knee shall bow, every tongue confess, that Jesus Christ is Lord. May it be thus, Lord .. may it be thus.

I agree with the prayer request. Your vanity post sounds interestingly similar to an email that went out about the meeting "last week" between President Bush and several ministers in which he shared his request that people pray for wisdom and clarity in the face of tough decisions and for people to pray for his family. That email was from around October 2001.

I have been praying for him all along, but especially today as he prepares to send the troops into harms way.
