URGENT PRAYER REQUEST FROM PRESIDENT BUSH

I have refrain from shameless vanities, but feel that given the course of today's events, an urgent need to relay this request. Last wee, President George W. Bush had an urgent prayer meeting with a number of conservative evangelical ministers at the White House. This colleague of a ministerial friend of mine was invited to that meeting.
My friend's colleague expected to see President Bush tired and worn down when he arrived to meet these leaders to storm the throne of grace together. However, to this man's surprise President Bush looked refreshed and vigorous. When asked how he could be so peaceful, the President replied that he never felt stronger. The reason was that he knew that so many were praying for him. And he went on to say "when I am on my knees I feel real power."
Another minister at the meeting asked the President how the American people could pray for him in these trying days. He requested if we could ask God to give him clarity of mind to make wise decisions. He also asked that we would pray for his wife and two daughters because he fears for their safety.
In these hours, before our country embarks on what appears to be an inevitable conflict against a brutal and evil enemy, I would ask my dear Freepers to pray for our President, pray for his family, pray for his advisors, and pray for our brave military. To that end, I would ask that we set aside time tomorrow to bring these things to our God.
We are blessed with a prosperous and mighty land. Yet we cannot rely on our strength alone. Our help is in the name of the LORD.

Bush: "when I am on my knees I feel real power"
Need I comment on the contrast to his predecessor, who felt power from others being on their knees (under his desk).

Dear Lord, please continue to bestow your wisdom on George W. bush, the strong and faithful leader of our country. Surround him with your grace and light in this important time, and keep Laura, Jenna, and Barbara safe from every harm. Oh Lord, please hear our prayer.

We sinners do beseech thee to hear us, O Lord God; and that it may please thee so to rule the heart of thy servant, George, The President of the United States, that he may above all things seek thy honour and glory.
O Lord God of Hosts, stretch forth, we pray thee, thine almighty arm to strengthen and protect the soldiers of our country. Support them in the day of battle, and in the time of peace keep them safe from all evil; endue them with courage and loyalty; and grant that in all things they may serve without reproach; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

At the Pro-America Rally (Atlanta), Glenn Beck mentioned his meeting with Geo. Bush Sr, at Kennedbunkport, in the fall of Sept. 2002. He said that the Bush, Sr said that his son, the President, could definitely feel the power of prayer in the aftermath of 9-11-01, and that he appreciated the prayers of Americans. Bush, Sr. (according to Beck) then went on to say, that the President could feel the prayers diminishing over time, and that he doesn't feel the same sense of prayer in America today.
I don't know how to characterize the above, except to say that we should all remember to pray for the President.
