COMBINED Live Thread: DC Chapter's Rally in Support of Our Troops / C-SPAN Live Coverage of Leftists
DC Chapter, Free Republic
Posted on 03/15/2003 6:23:04 AM PST by FreeTheHostages
Good morning. It's a beautiful day in the nation's capital, but the beauty is about to be marred by
Their leftist rally would be covered on CSPAN live starting at noon.
As explained here, here, their anti-American voices will not go unchallenged. The D.C. Chapter of Free Republic has invited all FReepers and lurkers in good standing to join us this Saturday, March 15, from 1 p.m. until 4 p.m. as we hold a patriotic counter-protest of the so-called anti-war march being held by IAC-A.N.S.W.E.R. in Washington, D.C.
I'll be staying at home, nursing a cold that has left me voiceless (hee hee, no doubt to the secret pleasure of many chapter members! ;), handling the live thread. Let's do a combined live thread on the C-SPAN coverage of the leftists and my reports from the field on what's going on with the Right guys, OK?
Today's early morning news, if you're waking up, is that some time before 10 a.m. on our local Channel 4 (NBC), our Chapter Warlord, Kristinn, will be interviewed on why we are expressing a support-our-troops message.
While professing to be against war and racism, the groups behind this march have strong overtones of anti-semitism and support communist governments that wage war on their own people and other nations.
The D.C. Chapter will be making a patriotic moral stand against the marchers' anti-Americanism and willful silence about the barbaric, terrorist regime of Saddam Hussein.
We will also be sending a message of support to our men and women in uniform fighting the war on terrorism overseas and on the home-front.
Survivors of Saddam's reign of terror, many of whom are American citizens, will join us to put the lie to those who claim that the Iraqi people do not want to be liberated and to speak out about Saddam's crimes against humanity.
When: Saturday, March 15 from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.
Where: North sidewalk of Pennsylvania Avenue, NW, between 15th Street and 9th Street. Meet at 15th and Penn. at 1 p.m.
Bring: American and Gadsden flags (large and small), along with signs bearing messages supporting our troops, President Bush, America and the war on terror.
Weather: Mostly sunny, temps in the low 60s.
As always, the D.C. Chapter's rules for protesting will be in effect. Briefly, they are: No violence, no profanity, no racism, no provocations, obey the law and treat all law enforcement officers with respect.

I'm so jealous of the people gong to Philly today. It's going to be a beautiful day and a beautiful rally with thousands!
Did you hear Neal Cavuto said on the air on FOXNEWS that it's about time the cable news start covering these pro-America rallies?

I'm jealous also! Wish that I had been with everyone yesterday and could be with them today. Getting ready to go back to the aunt's at 5pm and enjoying my last hours of peace and quiet so I haven't been listening to the tv or the radio! I agree with him though - more coverage should be given to the pro-american side.
Reminds me of the sixties and seventies - the only pro-american slogan that I can remember is the one about "AMERICA - LOVE IT OR LEAVE IT."

P.S. I hope that you feel better soon!

Didn't take many photos, but posted a few here:
Freep shots
Did anyone get a decent shot of the maggots tearing up the American flag? I scrambled to get it on film, but was in the costume at the time, and didn't magange anything useful. Of course I'm sure the newsmedia will have a good picture if we don't (/sarcasm).

I didn't even see when this happened. I must have been over on the corner at the time. I hope somebody caught it on film. Another fine example of the true nature of the radical left. They are not peaceniks. They want war, but they want it on our soil.
I have been at the computer all day, trying to sort pictures for uploading. I had so many shots of profanity-laced signs, and flip-offs and shouting angry "peaceniks" that I didn't want to waste the DC Chapter's webspace with individual pictures of all that nastiness, so I made a few collage shots. I'll be uploading pix soon, then will have to do the links.
Is anybody working on an after-action thread?

America's Finest - The SpearTip of Freedom. (Photos of our deploying troops - share yours)
"The liberties of our country, the freedom of our civil constitution, are worth defending at all hazards; and it is our duty to defend them against all attacks. We have received them as a fair inheritance from our worthy ancestors; they purchased them for us with toil and danger and expense of treasure and blood. It will bring an everlasting mark of infamy on the present generation, enlightened as it is, if we should suffer them to be wrested from us by violence without a struggle, or be cheated out of them by the artifices of false and designing men." Samuel Adams
An air cushion landing craft passes an American flag as it carries U.S. Marines with the 26th Marine Expeditionary Unit to waiting ships from Onslow Beach in Camp Lejeune, N.C., Wednesday March 5, 2003. More than 2,300 Marines and sailors deployed Wednesday.

This is all I managed to record of the "peace" advocates destroying the flag.

Thanks. Hope someone has something clear. This expression of their real agenda needs to be recorded and shown.
