COMBINED Live Thread: DC Chapter's Rally in Support of Our Troops / C-SPAN Live Coverage of Leftists
DC Chapter, Free Republic
Posted on 03/15/2003 6:23:04 AM PST by FreeTheHostages
Good morning. It's a beautiful day in the nation's capital, but the beauty is about to be marred by
Their leftist rally would be covered on CSPAN live starting at noon.
As explained here, here, their anti-American voices will not go unchallenged. The D.C. Chapter of Free Republic has invited all FReepers and lurkers in good standing to join us this Saturday, March 15, from 1 p.m. until 4 p.m. as we hold a patriotic counter-protest of the so-called anti-war march being held by IAC-A.N.S.W.E.R. in Washington, D.C.
I'll be staying at home, nursing a cold that has left me voiceless (hee hee, no doubt to the secret pleasure of many chapter members! ;), handling the live thread. Let's do a combined live thread on the C-SPAN coverage of the leftists and my reports from the field on what's going on with the Right guys, OK?
Today's early morning news, if you're waking up, is that some time before 10 a.m. on our local Channel 4 (NBC), our Chapter Warlord, Kristinn, will be interviewed on why we are expressing a support-our-troops message.
While professing to be against war and racism, the groups behind this march have strong overtones of anti-semitism and support communist governments that wage war on their own people and other nations.
The D.C. Chapter will be making a patriotic moral stand against the marchers' anti-Americanism and willful silence about the barbaric, terrorist regime of Saddam Hussein.
We will also be sending a message of support to our men and women in uniform fighting the war on terrorism overseas and on the home-front.
Survivors of Saddam's reign of terror, many of whom are American citizens, will join us to put the lie to those who claim that the Iraqi people do not want to be liberated and to speak out about Saddam's crimes against humanity.
When: Saturday, March 15 from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.
Where: North sidewalk of Pennsylvania Avenue, NW, between 15th Street and 9th Street. Meet at 15th and Penn. at 1 p.m.
Bring: American and Gadsden flags (large and small), along with signs bearing messages supporting our troops, President Bush, America and the war on terror.
Weather: Mostly sunny, temps in the low 60s.
As always, the D.C. Chapter's rules for protesting will be in effect. Briefly, they are: No violence, no profanity, no racism, no provocations, obey the law and treat all law enforcement officers with respect.

Demonstrators wave U.S. flags and hold signs as they fill Atlanta's Centennial Olympic Park for a pro-war rally Saturday, March 15, 2003, to support American troops readying for possible military conflict in Iraq
Josh Knepper of Conyers, Ga., 11, has his face painted as a U.S. flag while joining demonstrators during a rally Saturday, March 15, 2003, at Atlanta's Centennial Olympic Park, to support American troops readying for possible military conflict in Iraq
Now compare that to this.......

Helen Housand, from Atlanta, closes her eyes in prayer during an invocation at a 'Rally For America,' at Centennial Olympic Park in downtown Atlanta, Saturday, March 15, 2003. Thousands of supporters of President Bush (news - web sites) and U.S. troops jammed the park built for the 1996 Summer Olympic Games (news - web sites). (AP Photo/Ric Feld)

I think the ANSWER pledge goes:
I pledge allegiance to Stalinist dictators, and to the many strategic alliances by which they stand, . . . .
To: FreeTheHostages
And to hate Bush and his administration whatever it does.

taking credit for stopping the war machine in Puerto Rico Just catching up with posts, so I hope this isn't a repeat, but the same folks screaming to stop the bombing in Vieques are howling at the Navy's decision to completely pull out. Since the Navy can't bomb, the base is useless -- so the protesters did accomplish something...the loss of a @$800,000,000.00 annual economic impact.
And to all you sickies out there...it could be worse, you could be watching your kid go through it, cleaning up hurl and watching the "Incredible Hulk Marathon" instead of C-SPAN. So you are lucky...
We used to get up at 5 AM-a half an hour before we went to bed...and when we got home our Dad would kill us and dance about on our graves singing "Hallelujah!"

Yes, that looks like Tgsltakoma in the foreground. Not sure. Wasn't watching the news cycle. But Fox national was definitely down interviewing us.
What was the sound bite? Did they say anything about how there are many more like us in other cities? Did they mention Atlanta or Philly or anything?
To: abner
I'm leaving the thread to go downstairs and watch some of the national news.
BTW, I hear a lot of police sirens and I live about half a mile north of the White House.
To: abner
Just saw this one-
I saw this on Strange Cosmos about a week ago.
