FoxNews Alert just reported that Iraqi troops have left Baghdad with heavy artillary and are heading south to the Kuwaiti boarder. More troops with SCUD missle launchers are heading west. The thought is that Saddam is about to attack our troops.

This is breaking news and details are few and far between.

Grrr. Every news channel that I flicked on has the Smart story. My cable doesn't carry FOX and my husband won't get me a dish. (He says I'll spend all my time during the fall and winter watching Hockey games...He's right.)

you need to leave that bum and run off with me and we can watch hockey all the time eh?

Maybe Saddam has suicide nutcases approaching, pretending to be Iraqi military, who will fake a white flag surrender even as they bring their anthrax, nerve gas, smallpox, chemical blight or other biological WMD along with um...delivering up close and personal, maybe even dropping off (after detonating, of course) a suitcase nuke or two.

I think MOAB would be the perfect welcoming gift for the Iraqi's that Saddam is sending to the borders!

Only one problem. As a dis-incentive to the Iraqi High Command, it might not be effective. One can imagine the report to Saddam: "Our army of ten thousand strong was making good progress toward the infidels in Kuwait, but then they just disapeared without a trace. There is only a smoking hole in the sand. The Infidels could not have done this. Our army must have mistakenly entered the 'Bahgdad Triangle'. We will dispatch another army to look for them right away."

March 13
— WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Warplanes taking part in U.S.-British patrols over southern Iraq on Thursday attacked an Iraqi radar southwest of Baghdad, the U.S. military said.

With more than 250,000 American and British troops in the Gulf poised for a possible U.S.-led invasion of Iraq, the U.S. military's Central Command said the planes used precision-guided weapons to target a mobile radar system about 265 miles southwest of the Iraqi capital.

In recent weeks, Western aircraft have stepped up attacks in the "no-fly zones" over southern and northern Iraq while extending the targets to include battlefield missiles and rockets that could hinder a ground invasion.

The last strike came on Monday when Western warplanes attacked a mobile radar system about 230 miles west of Baghdad.

The no-fly zones were set up after the 1991 Gulf War to protect Kurds in northern Iraq and Shiite Muslims in the south from Baghdad's forces. Iraq does not recognize the zones.

What pandora's box are you refering to?

IMHO a small underground nuke test at Tora Bora 2 years ago would have changed the geo-politics of terror. A nuclear detterent works ONLY if your enemies FEAR we will use them.

Your sentiment is shared by many people in tis country: and our enemies know it.

RESULT: we become more prone to attack.

LOL. You're bad. Actually, I got my husband into hockey about ten years ago. Trouble is, he's only interested in the San Jose Sharks--who stink to high heaven this year. Sigh. And they traded Owen Nolan to Toronto! I have Canadian relatives there. Boy, have they been rubbing that hurt in! I'll watch any hockey game, if it's on.

"What's this? Some kind of Celtic Voodoo curse?"

No, I think it's the duct tape... when applied correctly it makes a person talk like that. As a bonus, it reduces anthrax inhalation.

I heard yesterday and again today that Iraq has wired some of it's oil wells to be ignited if they are attacked.

This is probably a very ignorant question BUT can anybody tell me IF it's possible to somehow jam the ignitors? Thanks.

Yes. The war started weeks ago. We are only doing the dance with the United Nothing until the last pieces fall into place.

This includes final positioning of our forces and logistics, adapting to the tactical and logistical situation brought about by the Turkish Parliament, trying to bring the UN to its senses and help Tony Blair, give more time to those who are pursuing a deal to give Saddam exile, and possible give time to the forces who are going after al-queda (and possibly OBL) with the intel secured after the KSM arrest.

The only risk is summer weather and pre-emptive moves by Saddam Insane. All of the bickering in the UN will be quieted after we win and disclose the truth about Iraq under Saddam.
