FoxNews | . | .

Posted on 03/13/2003 4:59:55 PM PST by Drewman626

7:53pm EST

FoxNews Alert just reported that Iraqi troops have left Baghdad with heavy artillary and are heading south to the Kuwaiti boarder. More troops with SCUD missle launchers are heading west. The thought is that Saddam is about to attack our troops.

This is breaking news and details are few and far between.

A recent post said Stratfor.com said Iraq must move it's troops before the war starts because we own the sky so they can't move troops after the war starts. This may be their last troop movements. Moving south makes sense, engage the enemy. I don't know why they're moving west, unless they think we're going to do another left hook.

Maybe we sold them the left hook this time and we're really going to do an amphibious assault.

That is interesting.   Was it a FR thread that had the Stratfor article?

"I don't know why they're moving west, unless they think we're going to do another left hook."

I seem to recall seeing somewhere that there are upwards of 30,000 troops along the eastern border of Saudi Arabia.

I've send e-mail after e-mail to FOX complaining about the overuse of the FOx News Alert. It reminds me of the little boy who cried wolf. After hearing the alert "swoosh" over and over again, we're numb to it now.

When it comes to breaking news, MSNBC is better than FOX. Their connection with NBC and all of its resources really shows when it comes to breaking news.

Unless Saddam himself launches the attack, I don't see it happening.

Considering that the Iraqi forces haven't done anything without Saddam's direct orders since 1979, I'd at least cover my bets if I were you.

Saddam is likely to send 100 suicide bombers with at a crack (with chemicals) into Israel via the Palestinians. There's no doubt there is a payoff by Saddam after every suicide bomber.

President Bush may know something we don't. Like maybe Saddam "striking" first plays into our hands so to speak.

Maybe they're just using some French tatics.

Something like the "Marginal Line".

They all stand in the trench and surrender at once...

"It's risky for Sadaam, but it's a sensable gamble. Worst case we leave him alone and he achieves deployments impossible under fire, particularly the scuds."

Actually, a pre-emptive strike by Iraq might be a gift to the US.

It would justify the war.
The initiation of hostilities would be on Saddam's head.
It would eliminate a lot of the hand-wringing.
And it would all be over very quickly.

Wouldn't surprise me a bit. I have never seen such a bunch of witty cut-ups as we have right here.

I am voting he stole it from a FReeper too!

Well no actually. It isn't trade marked. It just made sense to me. You have to admit the double meaning sure applies.

Great minds think alike maybe?

I have been wondering for a few days if this is what Bush has been angling for.
