7:53pm EST
FoxNews Alert just reported that Iraqi troops have left Baghdad with heavy artillary and are heading south to the Kuwaiti boarder. More troops with SCUD missle launchers are heading west. The thought is that Saddam is about to attack our troops.
This is breaking news and details are few and far between.

Grrr. Every news channel that I flicked on has the Smart story. My cable doesn't carry FOX and my husband won't get me a dish. (He says I'll spend all my time during the fall and winter watching Hockey games...He's right.)

So lets see. We still don't have a resolution in the UN to "authorize" use of force. And we probably won't. Why are we even still trying? Meanwhile, Saddam gets to move his forces to the border and have them dig in. This is getting rediculous!
Let's roll right now, we can catch the Iraqi army out in the open. Tomorrow will be to late.

I can't imagine that Saddam will give us an excuse that would bring other nations in on our side. I think he'll wait until the very last minute if he's actually going to pre-empt.
To: Drewman626
So Saddam is moving his troops? So what, we've been moving troops around for months now.

oh wow, I'm glad my power came back on. The wind blew the power out here. It's been off about three hours. I couldn't find anything to do without FR!

The thought is that Saddam is about to attack our troops.
Whose thought was this?
My thought: more getting ready to surrender.

There's no way Saddam has ordered a pre-emptive attack.
He can't win on the battlefield and he knows it. His only shot (slim as it may be at this point) is in the court of public opinion.
 This is not an "attack"

The thought is that Saddam is about to attack our troops. That'll make it easier for our President, won't it?

Having them dug in was to our advantage last time... we just used HUGE earth movers and filled in the trenches.
