Picture of Elizabeth and her Kidnappers in San Diego.
Rick Roberts website ^ | March 13, 2003 | Hildy

A woman unknowingly snapped a picture of the three here in Lakeside California. She just thought it looked so odd to see this here. She called the Rick Roberts Radio show and they contacted Utah police. Also, it seems that Emmanual spent some time in our El Cajon jail for vandizing a church. Here's the picture:

The islamic guy running around isn't that unusual in the USA now

When you think about, what better way to avoid being caught. We don't want to seem insensitive to Islamics.

I am so sorry! I had friends that lived near there. Is the cop car still sitting in the parking lot?

Yes.

The point I was trying to make is that anyone living in my 'hood knows that REAL Moose Limbs don't look and walk like that...

El Cajon and Lakeside would not have a lot of Moose Limbs in the areas pictured. Although i wish SOMEONE had acted on the "ickies" :-(

The question is whether it would have gotten a solid response from Elizabeth.

I'm willing to bet that this a$$hole used all manner of psychological torment, especially early on.

My feeling is that she was already a docile girl and this POS mentally raped her to the point where she believed that answering questions meant her family would die. GRRRRR!

I am glad you brought up the "burqa"

my opinion is is that we have to start profiling everybody....we have to stop being so liberal minded that we just give everyone a pass at what they look like or what they are doing...

I will take a guess that thousands of people saw Liz Smart in some form in these last nine months...

yet it took a chance sighting and a call to get the police to intervene...

and actually, there are reports that the cops stopped them in other places as well didn't they?

yet they probably didn't want to appear to be too intrusive so they never got real anwsers out of Liz....

And I thank God my little girl is anything BUT docile. She's well-behaved, but she ain't gonna put up with ANYONE's s**t.

She's also learning Kung Fu early on. By the time she's 14, she'll probably be able to beat the crap out of most kidnappers :o)

Reminds me of the joke I heard...

The burglar is stealing the stereo when he hears the parrot squawk, "Big Brother is watching you!"

This happens a few more times, and finally he asks, "SO what's this 'Big Brother,' anyway?"

"SQUAWK! Big Brother is the family Rottweiller! SQUAWK!"

There are still many children missing, and I pray that at least some of them might return to their loved ones as Elizabeth did. For the others, may the Lord bless and keep them wherever they are, in this world or the next.

Amen!

Rotties: Silent AND Deadly! They are quite impressive dogs. My cousins have an Irish Wolfhound that is really protective of "his" people. My little yapper does make enough noise to wake the dead (his contribution). And then there are cats. All i can say is cats would point out the valuables if provided with food. Ingrates!

The police stopped them because of the reported sighting of the man they were looking for in connection with the Smart case. Then, lo and behold, there was Elizabeth, too.

HELLO!! You must have missed a whole lot of the story! The cops showed up because of the reported witness of the suspect linked to the Eliz. Smart case. The cops jumped on it, and were ready to take them in, then they discovered that Elizabeth herself was with them! This was no casual police stop!!

let's hope your daughter could escape such an event... but many times the captor subdues the victim to the point of dismantling their defenses.

There have been two cases in the Charlotte, NC, area alone in the last 5 years ..... or at least 2 cases that received wide-spread publicity.

Kristen Modafferi's mom will 'always have hope' for daughter's return
03/13/2003
By STERLIN BENSON WEBBER / 6NEWS

Kristen Modafferi
It was a happy ending for the parents of Elizabeth Smart after their 15-year-old daughter was found alive nine months after her disappearance, but the Modafferi family of Charlotte is one of countless families still hoping to find their missing children.

"To hear the story about Elizabeth being found and being found alive and well, we're extremely happy for the family, we're very, very happy for them," said Debbie Moddafferi, Kristen’s mother.

Kristen, 18, disappeared five years ago while working in San Francisco for the summer after her freshman year in college.

"There's not a day or an hour that goes by that we don't think about Kristen," Debbie said.

This next one is particularly heartbreaking to me ....

Smart case gives hope to Cleveland County detective working Asha Degree disappearance
03/13/2003
By ANN SHERIDAN / 6NEWS

Asha Degree
SHELBY, N.C. -- The Elizabeth Smart case has brought hope and belief that miracles do happen to other families of missing children.

Wayne Thomas is thousands of miles from Salt Lake City but he can't stop reading about the Smart case. Thomas is a detective with the Cleveland County Sheriff’s Office.

For three years he has combed through the files, led the searches and said the prayers, hoping to find now 12-year-old Asha Degree alive.

Asha disappeared three years ago on Valentines Day from her home in Cleveland County. Just days ago Thomas followed new leads and new hope, but came up short.

.....

Apparently Asha was angry with her mother and snuck out of the house in the wee hours of the morning. They think that someone passing by in a car saw her, walking along a state road, during the night. She has not been seen or heard from since then though a bookbag with her name and address was found in August 2001, miles away from her home.

Asha Degree still missing ..... a site with more info about Asha
