"Funny how Edwards and Kerry both managed to avoid voting on it, and therefore, any potential political 'stigma' associated with this issue.
With 2004 in mind....convenient, even."Let's all make sure we CONTINUOUSLY let the public know that they abstained for NO GOOD REASON. THEY WANT TO PLAY BOTH SIDES OF THE FENCE.
I can hear them now at $5,000 a plate fundraisers: "I would have voted AGAINST it if I had been able to make it" and to crowds of moderate conservative 'swing' voters: "I would have voted AGAINST it if I had been able to make it".
I think the Clintonista regime has made me cynical.

LOL! Delightful post! Thanks.
I think we do Asti Spumonte. I've liked a number of California blushes, probably too lowbrow for your taste.

"No, you were looking at a tally of YESTERDAY's Harkin amendment to the PBA bill that endorsed Roe v. Wade."Sorry. I saw in further replies that I had the wrong floor vote.

I want to see it, too. I live in NM. I know for a fact that Domenici has been in favor of passing the partial birth abortion ban for a long time. Binaman, on the other hand, is a drone for the RAT leadership. He will duck and cover when his ass is on the line with the NM voters, and a bill is assured of passage or defeat. Binaman is one of Daschle's key "heyboys".

The legislation includes an exemption in cases in which the procedure is necessary to save the life of the motherIn a partial birth abortion, a baby is delivered nearly all the way except for the top of its little head. Okay.
AT THAT POINT (where the baby is almost all the way born)..... there are only two options: 1) Pop! - - out comes the last few inches of the living baby, or 2) Surgical scissors are thrust into the base of the baby's skull to facilitate removal of brain matter so said baby's skull can be collapsed. Then, Squish! - - out comes the last few inches of a brutally murdered, dead baby.
Can somebody please explain to me the difference between option #1 and option #2 as it relates to the possible endangerment of the mother's life?
Thank you.

Santorum voted against this.....I take it to mean that the "exception" clause was added....the one where he says that the partial birth abortion is left to the SOLE DISCRETION of the doctor....NO PEER REVIEW. He said that clause means that ANY ABORTION CAN OCCUR AT ANY TIME, AS LONG AS A DOCTOR STATES IT WAS IN THE MOTHER'S HEALTH INTEREST........he discussed this at length the other night.....why he was against this amendment with the ADDED EXCEPTION CLAUSE.

Can somebody please explain to me the difference between option #1 and option #2 as it relates to the possible endangerment of the mother's life? No difference. If the mother's life was in danger the baby would be born by C Section and put in the NICU if necessary. Killing the baby on purpose is never a way to save a mother's life.

Religion has nothing to do with it... If th child is viable outside of the womb, then to kill it is murder. Period...

The left was so distracted by Iraq they didn't hardly even mention it :) I doubt that. They just know they can twist the definition of "life and health of the mother" to suit their own pro-death ends.

Clinton with a Yea no way. Again, please read more closely. THAT's the tally from a Harkin amendment to the bill endorsing Roe v. Wade.
