"Janeane Garofalo insures us 'there's no evidence that [Saddam Hussein] has weapons of mass destruction.' To what Insurance Company did Ms. Garofalo pay money, and how much do we get in settlement for a claim if WMD are used?

Just a couple of weeks ago, Jacques Chirac warned European Union hopefuls not to stand in our corner. I can't help but wonder what my grandfather would say about that if he were alive today.
I also wonder what my grandfather would say about all of this. He died an early death after being gassed in the trenches of France during WWI.

GREAT Article! So true, so true.

If you think containment works, turn on the History Channel and catch some footage of the Nazis hardly containing themselves all over Europe. No matter how much we might agree with the thrust of the article, to make this the only--or even the major--example of "containment" is ridiculous. See: USSR. Containment has worked in the past. The objection to both analogies is whether either one is . . . well, analagous . . . to a terrorist situation.

Even the Vatican -- which couldn't be bothered with the Holocaust -- is against us. Sorry, Jonathan David Morris, you had a great article going there, until you started to repeat lies. You just had to throw it all in the crapper. Why should I believe anything you say, when you get that so thoroughly wrong?

I can understand how you feel about your Grandfather as I feel that way regarding the fine generation before us. My father from his nature has turned over in his grave by now. I remember one story in particular regarding the French people during WWII my father would tell; when his group 29th Infantry pushed through Omah Beach and journyed inland the people were just outreaching with joy and happiness to greet the GIs. He told just a few stories to me about the war as he was trying to protect me from its horror. He was very proud of his Division and the men he served with. I too feel proud to have served with a great Division 1st Air Calvary in Vietnam, I can still hear him say as I walked across the tarmat to an awaiting Jet to carry me there, I stopped and pondered and looked back at him and my Mother and just smiled. I pray for a quick and most astounding victory in the nearing engagement. May your Grandfathers image always abide in you.

Beat me to it. I find any kind of analysis difficult to accept from someone who doesn't know the difference between these words.

Look at Canada and Mexico turning on us from up above and down below. These countries have a lot to gain from America's losses.
Hmmm, hard to imagine how America's losses would benefit either Mexico, which depends on American manufacturing and on a good U.S. economy for the money its legal and illegal migrant workers return to Mexico, or Canada, which depends on a good U.S. economy for exports of timber.

I was actually addressing my remarks to the agreement with Europeans, not you. Sorry if it was poorly worded. I didn't even realize you were the same poster as the other thread.
As to the other thread, I used your post to make a point to the many who don't bother to show up and apologise for attacking the victims as somehow being involved in some dark way. Your explanation of your meaning was totally accepted by me and perhaps I should have responded to that. I apologise for not doing that.
I have no problem with you personally. Regards

"Between?" If we're being such sticklers here, try "...differences among these words." Besides, insure and ensure are essentially the same.

Yup. Pope Pius XII was clearly the right man at the right time. The Vatican archives will show the truth...

Has anyone informed Equitable Life Assurance Society about this?
