What I don't get is that the 9/11 Arab terrorists targeted New York City specifically. Why would NYC be against pre-emptively shutting down Arab terrorists, their funders and enablers? NYC is still very much on the terrorists short list of places they would like to nuke or bioattack. Is this action an attempt at making nice with the terrorists so they'll pick a different American target?

Another supporter of the resolution, whose district includes the remains of the place wherein the terrorist bloodbath occurred, cited the "sanctity of human life" of the enemy These pukes are so concerned about the "sanctity of human life" of the enemy, but when it comes to the sanctity of human life of unborn children, where do they stand? Not to mention the sanctity of human life of the victims of terrorists. These are scum who weep not a single tear when innocents are butchered, but who are offended when the butchers are caught and detained.
What craven, corrupt, depraved, and utterly evil people. They are an abomination.

Why would NYC be against pre-emptively shutting down Arab terrorists, their funders and enablers?1. They are in love with the UN. Like a lot of people here, they were all raised to think it was a Very Important and Enlightened Institution.
2. The council has always been supermajority-liberal, but now it's full of downright rabid radical types like Charles Barron. This is because term limits got rid of the entrenched, old-school Democrats, who were reasonable by comparison.
3. They were very impressed with the antiwar presence in this city of late, apparently. And I think they believe the "Big Mo" is on the side of the peaceniks. The council picked the wrong side. They're just that dumb and blind.
And traitorous.

Well, I wish we had Ed Koch back right now. He is at least in favor of action against Iraq. I still don't know where Bloomberg stands.
To: hellinahandcart
That's right, Koch is in favor. He also said, "God help the Democrat Party... if it deserves that help."

Thanks. We will "feel each other's pain".

Incredible. NYC is still a prime target for terrorists, especially if they get their hands on the sort of WMDs produced by Saddam.
These NYC Council members must be mentally ill.

Bloomberg has an opinion? You mean he actually might take a stand on SOMETHING?

bunch of left-wing, black and hispanic hate-America types from outlying districts in Brooklyn and the Bronx I hate to break the news to you pal, but most of the WHITE Councilpeople from MANHATTAN (Upper West Side, Village and other places) voted for this resolution. Outside of the Garbage Dump, er, Staten Island, White New York is dominated by "Silk Stocking Socialists."

Disgraceful. These Dims don't remember what happened down the block from City Hall on 9-11-2001. And to think the Dimly-lit bulb Gerson, who represents the WTC site area, was a sponsor of the resolution. It's a slap in the face to the 3,000 people who gave their lives on that day. It really goes to show you how looney the Left can be.
It passed 31-17. Maybe Bloomberg will grow a sack, come off of his anti-smoking crusade for a minute and veto.
To: Braak
Bloomberg has an opinion? You mean he actually might take a stand on SOMETHING?Sure. He hates smoking and traffic.
That's all I got so far...

Yeah, I know. I hope they all get their asses kicked in the next election.
