I live in NYC myself and I have to admit I have NO IDEA who is on the City Council from my district nor what the stinking City Council does except that it is probably dominated by a bunch of left-wing, black and hispanic hate-America types from outlying districts in Brooklyn and the Bronx and in no way represents what a majority of TAX-PAYING NYC residents think about the war (if you catch my drift).

The City Council is a joke. I mean we have a Black Panther sitting in an elected seat. Disgraceful.

I emailed the city council, before the resolution was passed, they ignored me. I wonder if they buy into the false logic that going after Iraq will only make NYC more of a target. Well, what did we do BEFORE the WTC came down, to provoke it?

We've been expecting this (and dreading it) since yesterday. They were determined to do it, it seems.
I called my councilman, Speaker Miller, but he was a sponsor of the bill. He's also being term-limited out, so he doesn't give a shit.
You guys who want to knock New York-- be my guest. Really. I mean it. Indulge yourselves. Vent til it feels good. You're all entitled.
And if the reaction is negative and national enough, the commies on the council will have to repeal this and some of them won't get re-elected.
You will be helping us in the long run, so go ahead and yell.

After 9/11 your council has the tenacity to turn so left, so socialist, so communist, so anti-American that you are opposing our President's pursuit of the enemy? You, the very heart of the declaration of war. You, the very city were 3,000 Americans burned to death. You, GROUND ZERO!!!! You, of all people should understand that war has been declared. We cannot turn our back on the enemy. It's too late for talks. It's too late for discussions. It's too late for complacency. It's time to face up to our fears and take the battle to the enemy .
You're disgusting. You are a disgrace to your nation, your city, and the hard working people who are forced to endure your tenure in office. I'll make sure I cancel all of my future business trips to New York City.
I think I'll go smoke a "reasonably" priced cigarette now....IN PUBLIC. It's a freedom those of us who choose not to live in the Peoples Republic of California or New York get to enjoy. It's called making decisions for ourselves. And it's what we are fighting for.

NEWSFLASH: The people of the City of New York expressed dire exasperation at the audacity and cowardice of their city council today, which decided to ignore the plight of its people and offer support to those who want to turn the city into a smoldering ruin. This comes as a truly morbid surprise, considering that the City continues to suffer severely from an debilitating enemy attack that occurred more than eighteen months ago, in which terrorists destroyed the infrastructure of the financial district. More than three thousand people lost their lives in that dastardly massacre, yet the council managed to evoke the memories of the deceased for whom the entire city continues to greive when it beseeched the mightiest military on earth not to end the carnage once and for all. Although the enemy for whom the city council offered its support admittedly did not directly sponsor the terrorists who committed that horrific massacre, the enemy to whom the council offered solace today plans far worse attacks on the city.
One supporter of the incredulously unpatriotic resolution, which passed 31-17, listed enemies that she considered far graver: poverty, racism, sexism, and incredulously, the plight of the City's fire companies. This ghastly irrational statement stunned firefighters, 343 of whom gave their own lives to rescue others from the terrorist massacre. Another supporter of the resolution, whose district includes the remains of the place wherein the terrorist bloodbath occurred, cited the "sanctity of human life" of the enemy, in a statement that revealed apparent oblivion to the peril the enemy now plots to inflict on her own life. To protect the lives of these innocent creeps on council from public revenge attacks, we will not mention any names.
Many left-wing liberals across the country, including as those heretofore mentioned, despise it enough to blame the country itself when murderous terrorists massacre innocent civilians while at the same time refusing to accede to allowing the mightiest nation on earth to eliminate effectively the murderous tyrants who harbor and support these terrorists. While this political faction holds a vast majority on the City Council, not all of its members had the gaul to oppose ouster of the enemy. Citing the downtown slaughter on that terrible day, Alan Jennings voted against the resolution.
Fortunately for the President, the unconstitutional resolution carries no legal weight, because the City lacks an Army that the President commands. < / as it should read >

Is it me, or are there a LOT of helicopters in the sky this evening? One has been hovering over my block for the past half hour. Is there an emergency in progress that I am unaware of?

If anyone is interested in making the city council's phones ring of their hooks, I posted names and numbers over
here.
I'm just too depressed to go copy the source code again, it's a whopper.

Done. These decisions knock the wind out of good people everywhere, and we can not let them win. Action helps. Thank you for the list.

I hate to say but it's obvious we're going to have to be hit again, and hard, to open these peoples' eyes. Then again, as long as these traitors are out there popping off the enemy won't attack us. If they do they know it might actually remind these idiots about 9/11.
