Michael Savage: To Hell with the Conservative Media

"I'll put my advertising in the liberal media," Savage said, sounding off on the lack of conservative media and conservative website coverage his new show received, after its airing on MSNBC, this past Saturday.
The Savage Nation, which debuted in the time slot of 2 PM PST and 5 PM EST, Dr. Savage deemed a big success. Savage said, "NYC called after the show with thumbs up." "We got a star." "It's a hit and we are going to run with it." However, Savage added, to catch a bigger audience the upcoming shows will be aired again at 6 PM PST and 9 PM EST .
He went on the attack mentioning the "Great Bill O'Reilly with tongue in cheek" and other "talking heads" on the "conservative and liberal aisles going out" after their shows with their guests, with whom they had just argued with in front of the camera, "for martinis and discussing how they had screwed the audience". Savage believes his show will be different and true to the audience.
A caller to Savage's radio/talk show asked why he stood up during the show. Savage joked MSNBC couldn't afford a table and chair; but then went on to say he had stood for 3-4 years doing his radio show. He said, "I get air in and air out which makes me a better speaker", comparing his style to that of a singer. He did admit the lighting needed to be toned down. This was the only discomfort he felt which derived from an accident he suffered when young, often wearing sun glasses to compensate.
The second show will again offer some of the same footage of the atrocities in Iraq, more footage of 9/11 "to bring the liberals out of their haze." "People need to be woken up." "I am declaring war on Hollywood." "I will roast them over the coals." "How did we go from WWII when Hollywood stood up for the country to the Hollywood today ?" he asked.
The show contined with callers giving positive feed back for Savage. Then he quickly moved onto the hot topic of Rep.James P. Moran, Jr. of Va. "who is not qualified to be in office, as Trent Lott was brought down for far less". Savage stated we should put pressure on the Republicans to have him "thrown out now", for bigotry from remarks made at the St. Anne's Episcopal Church in Reston on March 3rd, which Moran has now apologized for. He questioned, "Where is Boxer, Feinstein and the other Jewish Democratic Senators and Congressmen?" Footage of Rep.Moran's remarks, Savage hopes to run on next week's show.
When a bomb has an "R on it", Savage says, it's evil, when it has a "D on it", it's ok. You have to admit as Dr. Savage says at the beginning of his show: "Here's the dragon, do I not scream?"

Like the queer lobby However, he played part of his tv show on the radio today..the cop that stopped him while out filming in his vintage '65 caddy and asked if "a woman cop with a butch hair cut could get an autograph". They mentioned her partner and joked..he got a kick out of that.

Savage is by far the loudest egotist in media. He alternately gripes and shouts, with no real explanation for his rants. I agree with some of his ideas---the illegals, the RATS and a few others, but hate it when he attacks Bush and other Pubbies for highly questionable reasons. He's not even an entertainer like Rush, but just a ranter.
To: TLBSHOW
Please stop putting Savage on the same par as Rush Limbaugh. Rush lets people talk when they call -- Savage lets them talk when they are praising him. Rush educates and Savage rants!

Atilla the Hun was a Moderate Pu**y. Savage is somewhere to the right.

I enjoy him some of the time but lately he is so full of his book and his show that he has gotten boooorrrrriiiiinnnnngggg!! I do not tune in to hear him ask for famous people to read his book out loud! Isn't that a bit egomaniacal? Geez!
When he gets over himself, I will listen again.

I didn't know that the people of Alabama wrote like they talked, it makes for entertaining reading. I can almost hear you speaking as I read. With that said, I think he is the perfect counter to Carville that many conservatives have been wishing for. I would pay to see a faceoff of these two guys. They may need spit guards and bibs, but the temperature in the room would definitely go up a few degrees.

Ooo, Savage is a fascist.
Bwahaha! What patent drivel.

Savage is an embarrassment to conservatism (unfortunately he's not alone in that role). If conservatives don't want to hype him, that's his problem.

>Wow. The way this thread is going, I feel like I am on the Democratic Underground site...
It is unbelievable the amount of ill will expressed here.
Even if show was half as bad is it is portrayed here you would think that fellow conservatives would encourage it - instead of this drive to destroy.
For so long Democrats dominated when it came to emotional persuasion - people watch a political debate and instinctively select the winner the guy who expressed the most of the emotions. Republicans can talk all day log about taxes, dividents, bla-bla-blah - the Democrats will scream that Republicans want to starve elderly and children and you know who wins.
Here comes Michael Savage who has more fire in the belly than most Democrats - the voices here say - why can't he be more toned down?

Please dont confuse Savage with a conservative, he's a populist with some of his views bordering on Fascism. Except for the populist, that sounds more like the White House than a talk show host...
How does one make the absurd leap from populist to "bordering on fascism" at the same time?
To: Constantine XIII
The fascists of today are the leftist authoritarians.
Fascists and nazis were socialists. Don't be fooled by leftist propaganda which has been repeated over the decades.

Stalinists, Maoists, Ba'athists, Pacifists: Why are they always on the same side?) I like your tagline. The answer is that they are all socialists, followers of some spawn of Marxist philosophy. (except Pacifists, of which very few actually exist because most anti-war protestors are nothing of the sort)

When he gets over himself, I will listen again.Yeah sorta of reminds you of Drudge's show on Fox with all the whining and all. He didn't last long and if Michael thinks the novelty of 'watching' him on the radio isn't going to wear off......
To: TLBSHOW
If you're not sure of yourself you can never do what people like him and Rush do! :>) One huge problem with Savage's show. There is NO reason for anyone who listens to him on the radio to also watch the tv show. By Saturday afternoon, shaving off time for show prep, what new material can he cover?
The best thing about the show was the video footage. I think the reason Rush's show was popular is because he could finally show us things which could not be adequately described on radio. THAT was the reason for tuning in.
I think Michael has a good message, and I don't mind his delivery so much. But he's got to find a reason for us to tune in.

Sounds like he was 'fired' for his supposed poor performance, -
- correct me if I'm wrong, but, didn't Matt quit over a controversy involving his desire to show something involving abortion and Fox wouldn't let him?
