Today, the Senate will hold a debate for an hour and a half on the broader issue of whether the Constitution grants authority for a filibuster with regard to judicial nominees.
Vice President Richard B. Cheney will preside over the Senate for the debate, and there will be a special message from President Bush.

Well, I hope the Republicans at least try something, their current game plan isn't getting anywhere. The Democrats couldn't care less about the peoples' business, but maybe this will shame them into cooperating.

A little, long-awaited hardball.

Sen. Trent Lott, another staunch supporter of the embattled judge, also has been talking to key Democrats "who may not want to be part of a partisan political smear," Lott spokesman Lee Youngblood said.

The injustice to Estrada will be lost.
If Estrada is sacrificed, jurists who are unable to be categorized by political ideology due to a perceived lack of information will no longer be acceptable candidates for the federal judiciary.

BUMP!
I like this. The Republicans have decided to play beanball against the scumbags. Each successive nominee should be more frightening to the scumbags than the previous one until the scumbags view Estrada as a "moderate".
This is a very encouraging report.

We are so very angry over the democrats blocking Estrada! They seem to think they can walk all over the Constitution and no one will notice much less care. It is time for hard ball and I don't mean Chrissies little game. Follow the Constitution 24-7 and follow Rush's advice. Daschle needs to feel the heat!

"The Republicans want the Senate to rubber-stamp President Bush's efforts to pack the judiciary with right-wing ideologues," said Ralph G. Neas, president of People for the American Way.Sorry, but here's one guy whom I'd refuse to die for defending his 1st. Amendment right!

It's about time "GOP majority"!
I've been saying this ever since the filabuster started...Load 'em up with the most conservative judges Bush has nominated.
This will show anyone who still hasn't figured it out, exactly what the RATS are up to.
