Powell did not know about the drone discovery when he addressed UN SC

MSNBC just had a short clip about the Iraqi drone that the London Times wrote about. It seems that...

the copy of the classified UN document that Powell was reading from when he gave his SC talk did not include the pages referring to the chemical spraying drone that the UN had recently discovered.

Blix said the copy Powell had was only a draft.

Yeah right. Both the draft and Blix's speech overlooked one of the most significant discoveries by the inspectors. Iraq has an previously unknow program to develop chemical srpaying drones.

As far as I am concerned Blix should quit now. He stacked the deck at a critical time.

Not only did Blix deliberately mislead the world, people like Senator Carl Levin (MI) have repeatedly accused the Bush administration of not sharing our data with the inspectors. Democrats like Levin should be made to pay for their desire to submit to a world body that double deals us like this.

We have been aware of the drones for years. No nation would attack us if we were not a threat to them, our foreign policy is to blame. Why don't we listen to the wisdom of our founding fathers and abandon entangling foreign alliances? America should be an example to the world, not a policeman.

We are a threat to Saddam's desire to control the region and the oil resources. If you think we would be better served to pull out and submit our economic well being and way of life to a sadistic tyrant who would do as much harm to the people in the region as us, I disagree.

Yeah I would agree that a light plane could do it. But you may have trouble getting one outfitted with spray equipment. There is a general avaition airport nearby and they are on high alert. People inspect the planes before they take off. Getting the toxic stuff loaded would not be simple.

A drone could be dissassambled, stored in a ship container, assembled, loaded with toxin from the container, launched and deliver.

But either could work. I think the drone is easier. Especially if your target is Isreal, Kuwait or Iran.

The entire inspections regime has been devised as a way of AVOIDING the problem of Saddam, not as a SOLUTION to the problem. It's a way of allowing the problem to continue ad infinitum while pretending to do something about it. Inspections are NOT containment. They are a way to allow Saddam to engage in his shenanigans while providing cover for him.

That's why inspections can't be allowed to continue. They are a never-ending circle that cannot achieve the result they ostensibly seek. Perhaps I shouldn't say never-ending, because they WILL be interrupted eventually -- when Saddam launches his strike against Israel. So in the meantime, they're simply running interference for Saddam and buying him time until he's ready. Bush cannot wait for this kind of interruption to happen. He must take the initiative and interrupt this charade himself with use of force to stop Saddam. He must take this situation out of the arena of words and into the arena of bullets and bombs.

It's such an obscene, outrageous and absurd joke. The UN simply doesn't want anyone to stop Saddam from fulfilling his plans, and every single time they actually find some WMD, they keep it quiet and announce in public that inspections are working. Trusting in the UN to contain or confront Saddam is like having a police commission whose members have been bought by the mafia and believing it will take any action against organized crime.

The UN and world don't believe our assertions that weapons such as these exist.

What’s significant is that one of our allegations is confirmed first hand by inspectors and then kept quite by the same inspectors.

That’s proof of conspiracy against the US.
