What those Iraqi women told members of the House yesterday should be mandatory viewing by these wimps that want to give peace a chance in the UN.I didn't see it (or know about it...I'da watched). Can you tell me a little of what they said?
Question?... if the blathering peaceniks are so worried about civilan Iraqi casualties during a war, why aren't they up in arms about the people who have been tortured, raped, multilated, beheaded, gassed, bombed, murdered, etc.
Answer...because A. they are ignorant and ill-informed and really think Saddam is a nice guy
or
B. Their protesting has nothing to do with the Iraqi people, they are hypocrits and they just hate the President.
The answer is B.

"I can't believe this French Idiot is lecturing us "
I wonder what he would be saying if Clinton
wanted this resolution?
The BIG lie...
"What if [Saddam Hussein] fails to comply [with inspections]
and we fail to act, or we take some ambiguous third route, which
gives him yet more opportunities to develop ... weapons of mass
destruction? ... Well, he will conclude that the international
community has lost its will. He will then conclude that he can
go right on and do more to rebuild an arsenal of devastating
destruction. And some day, some way, I guarantee you he'll use
the arsenal."
No, those words are not the latest on Iraqi "regime change"
from President Bush, but the words of Prevaricator-in-Chief
Bill Clinton way back in 1998 -- four UNaccountable resolutions
and one 9-11 ago. This is the same Bill Clinton who, after two
presidential terms of "ambiguity" with Iraq which created the mess
we are in now, will make a paid appearance this Sunday with Bob
Dole (rumored to have run against Clinton in 1996) on CBS (which
"aided and abetted" Saddam Hussein last week).

The French, German and Russian Embassies have been bombarded with e-mail from the Peaceniks thanking them for their stands. Their egos are so big right now the U.N. is going to burst!

Chinese, as usual, concerned about "authority."
But not concerned enough to actually advocate enforcing it.
Wonder if they are willing to give Tibetans a 12 year break with no force in sight?

Thanks! Good to know that it was too much for them to go through with that. Guess Libya is still on for human rights!

The French are playing a bluff with no hand at all. And they are playing on the real loooooong shot that the US /UK coalition is going to back down from all this because they don't have the UN blessing. They're in for a big surprise. It's always interesting to speculate why. There's the obvious one of France wanting to be one of the big dogs (or, with Germany, to make the EU a big dog). There's also the likelihood that France doesn't want to have their ties to Saddam exposed for all to see.
Personally, I lean toward embarrassment and "penis envy": the French can't even influence events in the Ivory Coast, and they only have one piddly-assed little carrier that doesn't work half the time.

GW to French idiot:
"People can describe all kinds of intentions. I swore to protect and defend the Constitution, that's what I swore to do. I put my hand on the Bible and took that oath. And that's exactly what I am going to do."
"No matter what the whip count is, we're calling for the vote. We want to see people stand up and say what their opinion is about Saddam Hussein and the utility of the United Nations Security Council. And so, you bet. It's time for people to show their cards, let the world know where they stand when it comes to Saddam."

That won't wash ... the threat would be proven to be credible, substantial, and IMMEDIATE.
Time (for more inspections, etc.) doesn't address the urgency.
To: Terriergal
Does this mean they think it's ok if we call them cheese-eating-surrender-monkeys?Probably not, but feel free to call them that anyway.

He would make a believeable Nicolae Carpathia......

They were talking about how Saddam uses rape as a weapon. Also how they had family members just taken as prisoners for no reason and never heard from again. One of the women whose family lives in the D.C. area said the Iraqi people are waiting for liberation and will welcome the United States and to be able to live in freedom and democracy.
