He is looking more and more like his dad...
So, he looks like his dad. Big surprise. Your personal feelings about x-41 are just that. You are projecting them onto x-43.
What exactly did you expect President Bush to do tonight?
I don't think we should be bashing our Commander in Chief in any event. The lefties can do that without our help.

I hate to disappoint you, but this country is 11 years weaker, shallower, and more ungrateful than it was in 1992. Don't sweat. I see what's going on, and I don't like it either. BUt I don't take it all that seriously. I can influence those that I come in contact with, and I do. It's all I can do. ANd life is to short, and friends and loved ones are too precious, for me to fight bigger battles than the ones really at hand. I plan to take care of myself, and assume no help will be available from a FedGov (or other) -- I'm not saying it won't be available, but that I live and act and save on the assumption that it won't.
I don't care if the people of NYC want to ban smoking, I choose where I am.

Moran can't be allowed to get away with that insult....that crossed the line.. I'm still trying to figure out where the press corps was vacationing during the clinton admin.

Thanks for pointing that post out - I think. Find that man a red, double-decker bus! He would fit right in with O'Keefe and his merry crew.

My feeling is that if France, Russia, and Germany vote against us, the UN Security Council will become irrelevant and that the UN better be looking for funding elsewhere.
Unless I miss my guess this President will not be forgetting the UN Security Council for a long time! Don't think the UN better be counting on big bucks from the United States if they don't support us!
Personally would like to see the US get out of the UN and the UN get out of the US. We can form other alliances with countries that think and act like we do!
To: woofie
He basically said what we have heard him say in the days before, along with some of the stuff Powell said today.
But he said he WAS going to do his duty and protect this country.
And that he was going with or without the UN.
And that there will be a vote on the resolution at the UN, so that we can ALL see who is with us and who is not.

Nothing conspiratorial about it.
Europe has been beholden to Arab nations for their oil ever since they made their Faustian bargain in the wake of the Arab oil embargo.
And the Arab oil embargo had nothing to do with punishing the U.S. for supporting Israel, as many people still believe it was. The Arabs simply didn't want to sell oil on the world market for U.S. dollars, since they knew that the U.S. was going to inflate its currency for several years in order to pay off the enormous cost of the Vietnam War.
The U.S. and western Europe "staged" the Persian Gulf War in 1991 as the first step in a long process to eliminate Europe's reliance on Arab oil. Now what happened in 1991 that would have prompted such action on their part?

I hate to disappoint you, but this country is 11 years weaker, shallower, and more ungrateful than it was in 1992. The embers at Ground Zero were still warm when the people of this country decided that it was time to move on to "more important" things like prescription drug plans for seniors, and the people of New York decided that the most pressing issue in New York City was a smoking ban in bars and restaurants. <
Unfortunately I have to agree with you
Sometimes I wonder if this country's voters are worth the lives of those who are going to do the fighting in the Culf war

You are looking at a dead serious man. A man about to send young men and women into harms way. This isn't a "for the children" political moment, it's a life and death moment. Yes. Play period is over.
