which isn't openly threatning war against us I think you answered your own question. Saddam's embracing Islam to gain the support of terrorists makes him even more a threat. He is in a position to supply terrorists with the means to strike at any time and place of their choosing because of that secrecy. Do you really want to take that risk in allowing Saddam to stay in power and armed with WMD?

No. Stratfor forgets that all martial impulses must be subordinated to political aims.
Certain political actions had to be taken so that our best, closest ally, Tony Blair, could go to those Mad Hatters in the Labour Back Benches and say that we gave it the Old College Try.
That's all this was about. The Iraqis, and us, are going to be amazed at the speed and intensity of this campaign. Some of the talking bulletheads have been speaking of "Gulf War, Squared".
Be Seeing You,
Chris

They've already given him a resolution.
And be sure to watch WHERE the announcement that this war has started comes from.
HINT: It will NOT be from Capitol Hill.

In fact, he has explained it. Lots of us have tried to explain it to you. It's really not very complicated. Invading North Korea would most likely cause World War III. Invading Iraq will most likely prevent it.
We've tried to explain it to you but you just haven't understood. That's alright. You can't help it if you're not very smart. Now be a good boy and go to bed.

This has been an incredible press conference. Bush is calm, resolute, and determined. Just what is needed! All the press called him Mr. President, were cordial and respectful. Absolutely great material and delivery!

People are so impatient with the diplomacy, obviously it isn't working. I think it is incredibly valuable,,we know the UN now better than ever, we know the French, we know the Germans. The new world powers are making new alliances for the first time since the Wall fell. We are watching the end of the cold war and the formation of structures and alliances to be made for the next fifty years. The world is reshuffling as we watch,,that is huge.

Out of the ballpark! No one can say this man is not an intelligent and very well informed statesman, and a good man in his own right. This is the right guy to lead America post-9/11. Thank God for GWB, Jr.
COURAGE, AMERICA!!!

Dumbass... Of course containment won't work in Korea. And it certainly won't work in Iraq. You are certainly the worst informed, most ignorant, dense, intentionally stupid poster I have seen on FR in quite a while.
You must be a Democrat.

"HE HASN'T EXPLAINED WHY THE DOUBLE STANDARD ...and don't expect him to do so.
We have NK threatening us, millions invading our borders and Saudis financing the terrorists while we piss around in Iraq.
Yup. Makes sense to me.
Just Say No to nation building.

After the man's comments about the reason for war being based on revelations I'm convinced he isn't sober and pointless to discuss reason with the guy.

What I HAVE heard is a lot of Bible thumpers who lust for Moslem blood and some kind of fulfillment of Revelation prophecies. That's not my idea of a good reason to go to warYou have just proved that you have no concept of Bible phophecies.

Newt Gingrich is giving an excellent analysis right now on FoxNews. Yes!! Listening to Newt I'm beginning to understand that this press conference was for the UN and our "allies" even more than it was for us.
The speech to us will come later.
To: blam
I would say you are right! The next speech will be from the Oval Office to My Fellow Americans!
To: prairiebreeze
I do think that Korea is the real wild card here. Things are going according to script vis a vis AQ and vis a vis SH. NK is the real unknown in this whole equation. All hell breaking loose on the Korean peninsula while we're fully engaged in taking out the trash in Iraq would get real ugly real fast. I think that is what is responsible for much of the concern in the President's voice (in addition to the other obvious reasons for him to be concerned).
To: Wait4Truth
Talking heads on Spitting Chris Matthews are saying they think Bush will lose UN sec Vote-but that he will do it anyway because it forces other countries (and weasles, my word) to show where they stand.
Man oh man. How can people here say this wasn't an important speech? Bush told the Germs, Frogs, Ruskies and Chinese that he will make them stand up and be counted. That's strong tough stuff.
