In due course that is what Sen. Frist may well do. Do you know that he won't? Show us where he won't? Got a link..... What makes you think he should do that right now. Do you know what he has in mind for the duration? I doubt it? If so why not tell us.
Did Rush say the Fox story was wrong? Can you answer that simple question? Huh.....
Happily, it turns out the GOP isn't going to call such a vote. The offices of Senators Santorum and Hatch rang up my office on Friday, and said that the Fox story is not accurate. There will be no cloture vote. Hooray!

Then Rush is wrong..... glad to see you admit that..... Love it when you finally step up to the plate.... so sad it takes you so long to step up. Are you always this slow?

My gosh, lightning has struck twice:
Frist must make them conduct the filibuster Strom Thurmond-style. Make the Democrats take to the floor. Day and night, a nonstop filibuster. Frist should make the filibuster the only item on the Senate agenda, allowing no other business to take place until Estrada gets an up or down vote on the Senate floor.
I agree with this too, you are making real progress hear (just don't mention R--H or L--T again and you might make it. If you would stay away from all four-letter surnames in your posts you might be cured for good).
Think of it as Defensive Posting.

Will you admit that Fox changed the first paragraphs of their story?
Actually with Fox not saying the story is wrong, then they should not have changed the first paragraphs. A good journalist admits when they made a mistake -- Fox has not admitted that Garrett made a mistake in saying it was an historic vote to end a filibuster.
If they won't correct that, then what makes me think the rest of the story is right!
Fox never is WRONG is what I take away from your statements but Senator Frist is always wrong!

Everything you have reported re: Thursday night in the Senate is correct. I also was watching. There was no cloture vote filed.
Your reporting re: the 48 hours required for filing a cloture vote is also correct.
I, unlike you, did not know WHAT to make of the Fox report and went to bed thinking I had missed something while taking a 'nature' break. I was relieved (ewwww) to learn the next morning that the events as reported by Fox, were false.
You have done an excellent job of reporting the events as they occurred, AND your excellent analysis on the Thursday night thread re: Fox (I went back and read the tailend of the thread)was RIGHT on.

A Frist interview must be on tape......... I said at least twice now that I saw Sen. Frist myself. It was on Fox. Yes, there's a tape. And on it he pledges to get Estrada confirmed.
You seem intent on ignoring this information.

Yes he is, but at least he's stepped up to the plate and so said. Don't you like it when he admits one of his hero's has made a mistake......

and no Rush did not say it was wrong, he said Santorum and Hatch office called and told him the Fox story is not accurate.
Fox is standing by the story or can you link me to where Fox said it was a wrong story besides the date that the vote may take place that Frist told them in the interview.
I have waited all day for that link from you. Or is Fox now a bad source? LOL

I sure do -- Fox is right and Rush is wrong! That is exactly what he is saying!
This whole deal is ludicrous -- the original Fox story was proven wrong in the first three paragraphs not to mention the rest!
But TLB knows more than Rush, Sen Frist, Sen Hatch, Sen Santorum, and all of us Freepers that stayed up until after 2:00 in the morning following the debate and speeches by Senator Sessions, Senator Graham of SC, and then Senator Frist!

This is so frustrating! I saw the Sen Frist interview and he was never going to cave.
Major Garrett writes a bad article and now TLBSHOW takes it as the truth! Even when Rush talks about the Fox article being wrong, TLB says Rush is wrong!
Have never met such a hard headed person on here that even when presented with facts, ignores them!
Makes me want to scream! If the agenda was to be irritating, it has succeeded!

But there were negative quotes from Hatch, Santorum, and Frist in that same Fox article that did concede that Estrada defeat was possible. I remember that, and that bothered me at the time and I posted on it.
I couldn't reconcile that with President Bush's commitment to Estrada conformation earlier. I assumed it was to lull the Dems into a false sense of security. I assume they are continuing to develop strategy.
The big wildcard, and here's what I think is going on: Bush knows when Gulf War 2 begins, we don't. Obviously, to me at least, you don't run a filibuster during a War. I would expect the GOP to force them to begin a filibuster shortly before the beginning of the initial attack.
To continue the filibuster after an attack would then be very UNPATRIOTIC since it is so political in nature.

If TLBSHOW is right in what he surmises in #354, Garrett and FoxNews may not have been mistaken in their report.Since I have demonstrated, using the National Review, that no vote was ever scheduled, no cave ever contemplated, plus cited numerous Senators and the President prior to Rush's show airing, TLBSHOW's contention has been PROVED demonstrably false. Yet he persists in repeating himself over and over and over in the face of proof positive of numerous errors in the Fox story. And the timing of my and others' citations dating to before Rush opined and could have been an influence on the course of events.
Frankly, I am shocked at Rush staking his opinion on one article. As I say again, most of us used MULTIPLE sources that all point to these undeniable truths: No vote on cloture was scheduled, and certainly no cave by the Republicans was in the works.

You have painted yourself into a corner. Because you don't know how to get out of this corner, you have decided to continue on your already disproven course. You are a truly sad and ridiculous person.
