I'm at a loss at this point. This had the earmarks of pushing the issue this late at night. Hatch said by Friday. This may have been a volley across the bow as has been suggested. It's 12:30. Most of these people won't see bed till 1am or later at this point and have to be in their offices by 7 or 8 am for pre-floor business and preparation. At thier ages, this is tough on the system.

Some of you shouldn't forget, the Republicans are not anxious to set the standard at a 60 vote requirement. That, even if Estrada gets confirmed when it is all said and done, would be horrible. Right now, they want the Dems to agree this isn't an acceptable approach, and they want their names on record for the future.

Go, Wayne!!! Our own Senator from Colorado - Wayne Allard - one of the rare Senators who is not a lawyer or a fatcat businessman (he's a veterinarian) is speaking at this moment. I was part of the GOP "96 hour" Team that helped re-elect him 3 months ago in spite of polls which unanimously said he would lose to his wealthy Democrat lawyer-lobbyist challenger.
